Was there a comic strip in the 50's that had a character named Jeeves and a black cat?

OK.. maybe there wasn't a character name Jeeves in it. I know it was a comic strip because I read it. But just trying to think of it the other day.. its all foggy but seemed important at the time. But it has this little black cat in the strip. It had more of a story things going I think.

I keep thinking of things after I close the question off. The cat doesn't play a large part of the comic strip. Its just a house pet. Its a very rich family, I guess that was why I said Jeeves but I think there is a butler.
