? about security combinations?
Hi, on my laptop I'm running the following...
Avast free edition
Super Anti-spyware free edition
Windows Defender
and Windows firewall is on.
I think this is a pretty safe combo (also thinking about adding Malwarebytes for back-up).
My question is, is there a problem between Avast and the Windows firewall?
Should I turn Windows firewall off or change something in Defender?
Thanks for your help, much appreciated:)

1- windows defender is not a firewall
2 - if youre on xp, windows firewall is almost nothing compared to the availabe firewall programs which can protect you on your day to day computing needs
3 - even when you have avast with all its shields on, you still need to turn your firewall on since avast (if not the security suite does not have a firewall )
choices for firewall which goes well with avast:
comodo - if you want it really tight but naggy
online armor - more detailed and simpler
outpost firewall if you like tweaking your settins , simple too

FIRST. Neither Superantispyware nor Malwarebytes have real time protection in free version. That is a huge misconception that free versions of these programs will make your PC any safer.
Get spybot S&D or free version of spyware doctor from http://pack.google.com./ Disable spyware doctors antivirus, as Avast is better at that.
Avast should not have problems with windows firewall.
Windows defender is usually disabled when one has real antivirus.
