Missed opportunity for love?

I don't know if this really is a missed opportunity, but I just want to ask.

I was out with a few friends, and I saw this girl. She was looking at me and smiling, yet not saying anything.

It was a lot like a phone commercial that involved some another woman looking at a guy from out of a train window, and that guy switched trains, sat next to her, and eventually they had a kid who became president.

Unfortunately, I was not brave or energetic enough to go to the person and say hi...

Was this really a missed opportunity? Am I just being a hopeless romantic? If I did miss the opportunity what should I do next?

i think it was a missed opportunity. if all you give her is a simple hello and don't come off as arrogant, then as i girl, i would love it if a guy came up to me. it would be romantic!

not sure there's much you can do about it now. in the movies, you would see her again and if you did, say hi next time! you have nothing to lose, she's a stranger!

In real life if a guy jumped on a train and sat next to her like that, it'd be CREEPY.

You are a hopeless romantic. Maybe a missed opportunity, but perhaps there are more and better opportunities.

I dont agree to the above answer.

Giving a smile doesnt mean that their is an opportunity.

It is also one of the way to say how are you or i like you.

But u cannot treat is an opportunity missed.

Many times on first look we like some person but it doesnt mean that its an opportunity for us or sometimes even we give smile to other but its not an opportunity for the other person it is just a simple gesture.

well ehr smiling at you is her taking the first step, did you at least smile at her? if you did maybe she would have came over, or you could have just manned up and went over.

but maybe your overthinking it - you will never know, or try to find her again, start a crazy search party:) best of luck man

You should post it on craigslist under the "Missed Connections" section, she will maybe read it, because allot of people go on craigslist.
