Inhale, Exhale

Is life quite like a high school band,

maturing into a symphony?

Is it as much a gentle melody as it is

The crashing of Cymbals

and the percussive generations of a Tympani?

Do you feel the pulse of it throbbing,

or is it more a soothing flow?

Does it keep you singing along

or always changing the channels?

Is it a constant in your presence

and remain until the dirge is played?

I find it to be the core of me.

Update:

I wanted to use 'cacophony' somehow, but didn't

Update 2:

Just to say. I do not thumb down anyone.

    I sometimes want Coco's fanny myself...hehehe...

I gave the child a hard time for writing poetry about what's on the TV, so you get to hear it, too.

It's not so hot today. Get some fresh air,

Loved that metaphor, although I do wish you'd managed to slip in a bit of that cacophony that you mentioned, LOL

"Changing the channels" is jarring to me because you were using music so fluidly then you switched to a TV metaphor (metaphor? I get these confused). I love the use of instruments in the poem - tympani- nice word!

On a side note I thought you must have something to do with D. You both are so lovely - smiles to you! :)

Not a bad analogy. As players change, so will the music; sometimes euphonious, sometimes cacophonous.

Sweetheart, it's a fine effort, and I hope you don't get discouraged to keep on.

Kels and I are stopped to lunch in Alabama, I'll touch when we get home.

    Hugs you.

It's okay... I don't particularly care for the subject matter. It doesn't really speak to me for one reason or another.
