question about downloading a CD I own? have edited, download unedited.?

Ok. So I know it is LEGAL to make backup copy's of stuff (movies, games, etc.) that I bought and own.

But say I have a CD. I have the edited version of the CD with all the swearing and other inapropriate content removed. My mom bought it for me when I was a kid because she thought I was too young for that. But now I am almost 17 and now mom is ok with me listening to the unsensored music.

So, rather then going out re-purchasing the un-edited version of the CD (if I can even find it in stores that is.) would it be legal if I just downloaded the un-edited version from limewire or piratebay for free since I already own the edited version?

Update:

WRG:

I still have the edited version of the CD. It is safely tucked away in my CD folder. I just beleive I should be legaly entitled to download the un-edited version of a CD that I own the edited version to.

Nope, the MAFIAA (excuse me, RIAA) would like you to pay twice. I agree that it should be the fair thing to do, but the law says it is no different than downloading something you don't already own.

LMAO, bro, bootleg that **** of some torrents or frostwire. Chances of you getting caught are so insanely slim you have no idea. The WORSE that could happen is that your ISP starts acting like bitches and suspend your service until you call their fraud department which ALL ISP's have. However, if you continue after a warning they will take legal actions... but if your download from time to time, here and there... psh. You ain't close to getting in any trouble.

Unless your mom snitches on you...

Where's the original, pre-edited, copy of the CD? If you mom threw it out then you are out a CD.

There is no situation where downloading unlicensed music is legal.

If you bought the EDITED version, you DON'T own the unedited version. The two versions are SEPARATE products.

Short answer, it is NOT legal.
