Which would you rather put up with---PHYSICAL OR EMOTIONAL PAIN?
We'd rather not have any pain at all, but unfortunately the way LIFE is, sooner or later it hits us one way or the other, from time-to-time. One thing I know for sure, whether it is EMOTIONAL or PHYSICAL pain---it builds character, one way or the other. But which would you rather put up with...that is, if you have a choice? And why?
@pokealottasmot--Brutal, direct to the point reasoning for choosing which pain to lean on. I wish I could deduce right away in simple terms like you. The magnitude of the pain was
deliberately omitted because of the legions of possibilities...and space limits..so it's just a general question.
@Lotta Lou---the religious/spiritual aspect of support is universal to mankind (I simply ignore the legions here who claim they’re atheists or agnostics). I would not venture into the metaphysical abstractness, but I feel that I know what faith can do to help the suffering individual…
I can tell u one thing...it will be a physically & emotionally painful experience once the 'religion of peace' gets to have some real power over here...that is, esp. to their adherents. They haven't felt pain like nothin' yet!
@Pandora—Seems like you have explored the depths of the human heart real well---and the joy and pain of living.
One truly cannot understand the pain until one investigates the source. And one cannot write well until one has well and trully suffered...
@♪♫GЯAC3♪♫ I understand... Our opinion becomes FIXED the moment we stopped thinking...

Strong emotional pain can also cause physical pain.
With physical pain you can pop a pill or two, lie down,
and soon enough the pain has gone.
Emotional pain however is a different kettle of fish with no quick-fix remedy.
It can open you up and force you to ask a thousand and one questions
and not always offer you any answers.
It can fill your mind with negative thoughts and throw you deep into depression.
Yes...I know that you can take a "happy pill" but that is only a temporary relief
and one which I would definitely not want numbing. I would want to experience
every single heart-wrenching emotion, no matter what and no matter how long it
takes for me to come out of.
I would want to cry...to pull at my hair...to feel the hurt & the bitterness...
to feel the hopelessness of it all...

until you look deep enough into the cut
to see the emotional pain that put it there"

good question, really makes me think! You don't say if you can take medication to ease each type of pain, SO if you COULD, I would choose the physical pain and relieve it with pain meds. Emotional pain is just too consuming and there aren't many medications that can completely get rid of it. Now to answer your question without the use of any medication, I could not make a decision, I'm still thinking about it.

I can give my emotional pain to Jesus and He takes it away. If I suffer physical pain, I also give that to Jesus & it dissipates.
But I haven't ever been in a situation with prolonged physical pain. But I have suffered emotional pain for a long period. But realize it just takes trust Jesus to make it all right. When we trust in Jesus, God gives us His Blessed Assurance and the emotional pain dissipates.
Regarding physical pain. I have had pains in my heart for example. I have learned to look at the pain and look at Jesus. And have learned that it dissipates. So if I am suffering any other pain, I do similar. This is giving my physical pain to Jesus too.
I don't want to put up with any kind of pain. But sometimes we have to do it. Plans to put this Victory Mosque at/near Ground 0 causes me emotional pain. Only because, I know what it is all about. But I know also, I need to give this pain to Jesus. Trust in the Lord with all of my heart. Lean not on my own understanding. Acknowledge the Lord in all of my ways, & He will make my path straight. So I know that God is in control.
But I also have grand children who I want to grow up in a free America. If this Imam gets his way, they will Islamize America. So good by freedom.

"Pain insists on being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains; it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world." C.S. Lewis.
"If I had to choose between pain and nothing. I would choose pain." William Faulkner
Obviously I would prefer not to have any variety of pain, but since it is inevitable in life. I would rather avoid the mental anguish.

Depends on how much pain it is. I'd rather break my arm than have my whole family die. But I'd rather break up with someone than get hit by a car.
