What is the technical reasons computer users prefer Mac computers for graphics over Windows machines?
Realizing the same programs such as Photoshop are available for Windows as are other graphics programs, I have been asked what makes the Mac run graphics better or is this a myth?

The reason I was told why to own a Mac over any other brand is because there are less hackers. Most hackers don't try to use their skills just to hack on a Mac...haha...hack on a mac...
That's the reason I was told anyway. As far as graphics, I have no clue, I'd assume that would depend on your graphics card and monitor?

There was a time, 15-20 years ago, where Macs were superior for graphics rendering. They actually had good graphics chips built in. They had native compatibility for drafting tools (tablets and the such). These were things that a windows based machine just didn't have as most windows based manufacturers were focusing on the data and word processing market. So as a result, drawing and illustrative software was written for Macs initially. This went on for a number of years. In the last ten years Apple has really shifted from it's professional base and now market mostly to the consumer base. Now Apple computers as the sole machine for artists is a myth. All the professional graphics software and hardware is available for Windows computers. Macs have inferior graphics capabilities than that of a Windows machine of the same price point. Really, they only reason someone chooses a Mac is either form factor or the GUI.

I will try to answer your question but you must know that I only "know of" Macs and only have every worked on PCs.
Macs are graphical machines from the time you turn it on. The operating system is graphically based and Windows is text based and has a Graphical User Interface (GUI). Linux is also a GUI but is free.
Hope that helps.
