Planning to move to Hawaii. What should I look out for if I'm planning to rent?
I've been doing some research so I'm aware of the high rates. Thank you!
My boyfriend and I are planning to move to Hawaii before the end of next year. I've been doing some massive research but it always helps to hear more opinions. I was going to pick Kauai over Oahu, but being a city girl all my life, I know I might regret. Alternatively, No, i do not have a job lined up, but I'm not going to go if i cant secure at least one. that being said, I would like to know what the rent is like so that way I can have a guide line on what job would be fitting (yes, I realize there isnt much of a choice, but still) My bf is going to go to school and work part time.
So I guess the question is, how much is usually a 1 bedroom (not Studio) in the not so crowded areas of Oahu? And also the conditions of the apartment. Coming from Malaysia to San Francisco, I've seen good and bad ones, so getting an estimated living condition might be helpful.
Thank you Everyone!

Kauai would be a challenge,
O'ahu has lots of jungle and country,
plus jobs, stores, people.
The not so crowded is not necessarily cheaper
or closer to your favorite natural spots.
I liked Manoa Valley- Waterfalls, ridge trails,
and central location, near Waikiki, with
perfect weather and a bus.
