If you give more details about the situation, people can answer your question better.
What is the situation?
What is happening with the child's parents?
Where has the child been living?
Is there any other family members involved?
Are there any other children in the home?

He would need to be relinquished into foster care. There he would remain there until he finds an adoptive family (although there is a chance he will always remain in foster care until he is 18) If an adoptive family is place, they go through the process and he is adopted, he may not be able to keep in contact with your friend or her family until he is 18 years old.

you can do a search on the internet for adoption agencies in houston, Texas. DePelchin Children's center is one that has residential services and is located in Houston, Texas. your question leaves a lot of info out and I am not going to speculate on why the rush to adoption. I am hoping this is for the best interest of the child

There are a few answers:
1. Call the department of children and families in your area (They are in every state). Explain your situation.
2. Go to the emergency department and explain that your cousin cannot take care of her son, and ask for help.
3. Go to a church and ask for help.
All of these organizations will help your nephew into a safe place to live.

Um, no. You just don't walk into some place and put yourself up for adoption. Parents need to give their permission so if he doesn't like it at home thats too bad. Either tough it out or work to make things better.

Most adopters want womb wet infants. Not many people adopt older children and they languish in the foster care system for years. So your friends nephew needs to be adopted right...... "he needs to be adopted....she doesn't know what t do"
No one is going to want that little boy. She can sign him over to DCYF or whatever the acronym is of your states child welfare department. Most likely no one will adopt him and he will be placed in a foster home. Oh yeah and another thing the mother that abandoned him will have to pay child support to the state.
Most adopters aren't altruistic loving people who care about saving kids. It's all about their own wants and needs. Most of them only want healthy white babies and they don't give a crap about rescuing one of the thousands of children in the foster care system.
