Does it sound like I may have herpes?
I know I need to get a test but here is the story. Back in June I had unprotected sex with a guy. Then about 3 weeks later in July I starting having a burning type of sensation around my vagina and a slight discharge. I thought maybe it was a yeast infection so I went and got some over the counter medicine. It all seemed to go away within a few days. I've also had a couple small red bumps on my bikini line, almost my thigh. But wasn't sure if that was from getting a waxing. Well now I'm having this bad pain on the lips of my vagina like I'm being stabbed with little needles. But there are no bumps or blisters. What could this be? I heard a rumor about a month after I had sex with this guy that he has herpes but you know how people spread rumors. Help!

The discharge is not characteristic of an initial herpes infection, neither are some of your other symptoms. BUT herpes is a chameleon that takes on a variety of symptoms in different people.
So the bottom line is that you DEFINITELY require a doctor's visit--FAST! Be sure to ask for an STD test--and be SURE they include the herpes test!
I suspect another STD, so you need to get there and get the meds asap!

Yes, there isn't any. Herpes is caused by a virus. Actually, there is little cure for viruses nowadays. The only thing that you can generally do in the case of a viral infection is strengthen the immune system and hope it fights it off. Not with Herpes, the immune system can't win against it. Thus you only get to treat the symptoms. Once you're infected, it stays with you for life. So don't get infected.
Personal experience. I have had genital herpes for over 5 years.

Well, I would not contact it and not using a raincoat. Herpes is notoriously difficult to tradition and affirm in a male, until there may be an lively lesion to swab and tradition. Even then it sort of feels to be hit and miss. Genital herpes does not look to rationale many disorders for men, until they increase warts- that are eliminated particularly simply. It's the ladies who undergo so much, and by the point you discover out, the harm is already performed. There isn't any strategy to be undoubtedly designated he does not have it, and the one strategy to hold your self secure is to make use of a condom each and every unmarried time. If you're uncovered, it will possibly take a whilst earlier than you exhibit any indicators, if you happen to ever do. Usually the primary clue so much ladies have is while the pap smear comes again displaying alterations, or the tradition comes up constructive. By then, there is already a hazard harm has been performed, and you're in for a protracted avenue of further pap smears and therapy. So shield your self. Either should not have intercourse, or no less than use a condom. Every unmarried time, even for oral intercourse.

IF..And I mean a strong if. If he gave you herpes and had unprotected sex with you knowing all along he had it, you need to press some charges against him. He will get some serious time. And who were the people that spreaded the rumors? They didn't have the decency to tell you he may have herpes? It's sounds pretty pathetic on their part.
Can I be honest? I hate to say this: a burning sensation is a sign that you have it. That is the beginning of your first outbreak, especially if the lips of your vagina is beginning to hurt. I'm quite sure when you get a bikini wax, it wouldn't go across your genitalia (sorry for being graphic). But then again it could be from the wax.
Nonetheless, get yourself checked. I'll be praying for you.

See a doctor. They can use a magnifying glass to see if there are bumps or blisters. Have you been having a low grade fever, headache, body aches? That can also be a sign of it.
