why does firefox work and internet explorer says I'm not connected to the internet?
I am using a netgear wireless hub, and one of our pc's works perfectly fine with mozilla firefox, but when I try using internet explorer it says that I'm not connected. When I use the MS connection wizard, it says it can't help because Netgear is managing the connection, but everything on netgear is working fine.
I do prefer firefox, but need to use explorer for certain downloads and software updates and my antivirus stuff from internet provider.

Open Control Panel - Open Internet Options - Click on the Connections Tab
Delete anything that is in the box under "Dial-up and VPN Connections"
Check the LAN Settings and make sure only "Automatically Detect Settings" is checked.

It's because Internet Explorer is stupid. I would keep using Mozilla Firefox if I were you.
