I have these two computers that I'm trying to install Ubuntu 10.10 onto. Every time I boot from the cd and click "Install Ubuntu," it freezes up! I tried a flash drive, but that doesn't work either! Help!!!!!!!

I have this 12 year old HP Pavilion 5663 with a M50 monitor. It has Windows 98 on it and I want to put the latest edition of Ubuntu on it (not the beta). I have a live CD and I try install it from that so I wait for 5 hours to wait for it to install looking like its working... You can see the orange bar move across the screen... After its at 100% done, it just gives me a purple screen. I did a "hard shut-off" and then it came up with the old HP logo and a black screen with a white blinking cursor. Every time I tried to press a key to bring up the BIOS settings, it just makes an annoying beep. What did I do wrong? Also, what key should I press to bring up the BIOS menu-thingy? Oh, and do you know of any website that can give me assistance with my old computer (other than Y!A and the HP website)?

I am probably just having a brain fart right now... I recently attained a desktop computer that is on a different floor of the house of the wireless-internet-connection-modem-thingy. Is there a device that will pick up a wireless signal and then put the internet into the computer? Ohh! And it has to work on the latest edition of Ubuntu Linux.

I am creating an Animoto video for my English class. The goal is to create a book-turned-into-a-movie type commercial. The book is "The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Six More" by Roald Dahl, a collection of short stories. I have the visual part of the video done greatly, but I can't seem to figure out the audio part. I want just some simple background music to go with it. The problem is, the book keeps switching the mood ("Save the animals!" to "I'm a robber!" to "Oh! Treasure!" to "Save the animals or shoot me!" to "I'm a yogi! Watch me gamble!" to "I'm Mr. Roald Dahl! Look how I became a writer!") It's a very moody book and I need background music that will fit all these plot lines. I need some serious help! This is not the computer that I'm having problems with but the same internet connection. I have wireless internet and I recently acquired a used computer. I need to connect it to the internet. So, I've been right clicking on the little computer icon at the bottom right hand corner of the screen and clicking "Wireless Network Connection." I click on the internet connection I want to connect to and it asks for the password, so I do and it responds with this message: "The network password needs to be 40bits or 104bits depending on your network configuration. This can be entered as 5 or 13 ascii characters or 10 or 26 hexadecimal characters." What should I do?!? If you need more information, please e-mail me.
