metal plate in ulna in right forearm only?

I practice martial arts.

I had a terrible bike accident 5 months back. Ulna of both my forearms were broken. A metal plate was put in right ulna only. Now, after 5 months my left hand seems perfectly OK but I feel slight jerk in my right forearm specially while punching on my punching bag.

Is this normal or something is wrong ?

When can I go back to practice my martial arts normally ?

Is it necessary to remove my metal plate to practice my martial arts properly ?

why don't you ask your doctor. it probably isn't anything but scar tissue catching on the plate and unless you are having a major problem, you own that plate for life. i had to have my plate removed from my hand because the plate popped its top screw and lifted off of the bone. this is what my doctor considered a major problem.

Interesting question, I have a plate and 6 screws in my neck and they were able to do an MRI and CAT SCAN on my head and neck in November 2010. They said in 2005 when I had it done from C1-C7 they were using Titanium. Which they can use an MRI with. Have you spoke to your doctor about the situation.? If you had it a long time ago you may be very on target, but if it has been in the last 10 yrs you maybe okay. One way they told me I could tell was-do you set off metal detectors?? I also have a very narrow wire in my jaw from like 15 yrs ago and they put a shield there when they do MRI's.. God Bless

The metal plate ISN'T a part of your body, although your body may fuse to it eventually...Your bones were broke, making them more fragile :/ ALTHOUGH The jerking MAY be from the plate, I'm not sure, but if you are concerned, it could possibly be the metal plate. Just be wary, and know what you're doing.
