Someone gave this answer "I still find it difficult to understand why homosexuals want to "marry"
So why should heterosexuals want to get married? What benefits do they gain that would be different than homosexuals getting married?
@Frail child
Civilizing influence of christianity? Are you serious? So the several thousands of years of Egyptian, Greek, and Roman cultures that preceded christianity were not civilized? You honestly beleive that it took christianity for people to want to make life long commitments to each other? WOW...just...wow.

There are loads of reasons why heterosexuals want to be married but all of those reasons apply equally well to homosexuals.
Mainly they want to make a public declaration that they will not have any physical relationship with anyone else and that from now on they are exclusively devoted to each other. In some cultures too there are various legal rights for instance inheritance rights (a married couple don't pay inheritance tax if one of them dies) etc.

permit's remedy the 'marriage' concern: a million)each and every state gadgets a minimum age, usually the place one is considered an "person" and able to flow into into agreements and contracts. 2)each and every state will shop records in accordance to registration and contract regulation 3)Marriage might desire to be "privatized" and allowed for all consenting adults, alongside with gay marriage or perhaps polygamy. non secular ceremonies are performed or no longer in accordance to the married guy or woman (s). 4)each and every state does no longer take a "ethical place" and the "marriage" is dealt with below contract regulation besides as divorce and different concerns that would happen with time. The state acts as a checklist keeper and handles diputes from its court docket device and contract regulation. isn't that straightforward?

So they can make babies. Some of them, others like me do it just for the hell of it.
As for your question, when you start asking Christians about stuff like that, you're liable to get all kinds of crazy talk.

Because I can fart to my heart's content and he has to file a LOT of legal paperwork to get away from me. ;)
JK. I love being married. I love the commitment of it, I love what it's taught me about Christ and His bride, the church, I love seriously, everything about it and never wish I wasn't married. Of course, my husband is *extremely* rad. But yeah. Marriage. Thumbs up.

I wanted to get married because I loved my wife.
I wanted to have a family of my own.
I wanted children and grandchildren.
The above stated has became a reality.
My blessing is that God loves me and I him.
He has blessed me with a family of my own
with both children and grandchildren
Now after 43 yrs of marriage these are my blessings
rather than men with men and women with women
burning in their lust for one another who one day will
reap God's curse rather than His blessing.
1Ti 1:8 Of course, we know that the law is good if a person uses it legitimately,
1Ti 1:9 that is, if he understands that the law is not intended for righteous people but for lawbreakers and rebels, for ungodly people and sinners, for those who are unholy and irreverent, for those who kill their fathers, their mothers, or other people,
1Ti 1:10 for those involved in sexual immorality, for homosexuals, for kidnappers, for liars, for false witnesses, and for whatever else goes against the healthy teaching

I don't understand why homosexuals want to marry. Marriage is an age-old religious ceremony, and through homosexuality a gay has abandoned religion.
Also, it's unnatural. Humans don't have that desire in them, to love others of the same gender in that way. Humans would be created to be able to reproduce that way if it was natural.

Many don't.
It is only the civilizing influence of Christianity that has elevated lifelong, committed love.
Gays need to understand that by undermining God in their quest to demand acceptance they are throwing out much more than antiquated ideals...

So we can force our agenda on everyone. We like to demand special rights and flaunt our sexuality in front of everyone.
See how silly that sounds?
