Why are they advertising Acura's suspension oil as new technology and new thinking?

I had a 1989 Ford Thunderbird SC with this kind of suspension. It had a switch to make the car ride firm or soft using this magnetic fluid. Does anyone else know of any other older model cars that had this technology and how long its been around?

I did not get that Acura was trying to say their electro-magnetic suspension fluid was new technology or thinking. The commercial says "most luxury brands use oil in their suspension," so it sounds like all Acura is trying to do is differentiate themselves from the other luxury makers.
