    Exactly!

You will not believe how much dog fighting goes on.. EVERYWHERE! Suburban New Jersey even.. Here's a whacky idea.. instead of having cops put all their manpower into stopping marijuana and steroids, why don't you just let people be and bust these pieces of sh*t who mutilate dogs for sport or just because they're sick little f*cks.

    <edit>

and to the people saying "we haven't sorted out human rights"... you need to get a grip. i see women driving down the streets in their BMW's constantly (kind of weird for 'oppressed people' to be riding in $75,000 cars, huh?) and the last time I checked Jim Crow laws are gone and we have Affirmative Action for everything. Stop crying.

Animals are less able to protect themselves therefore they need more attention.. How many humans have been placed inside cages and beaten to death in America lately? How about chained in the back yard and starved to death? this issue needs to be taken much more seriously then it is.. The barbarity shown to creatures who can't speak up for themselves needs to stop. The issues women face don't even compare to the issues animals face. And if you disagree with that.. you need some real perspective.

Humans have rights Animals have limited rights Slavery is against the law in most countries Where are you talking about? Some women go looking for a big payout in bad places sometimes, and end up in virtual slavery yes. Details?

With the talk of lawyers for deer that have been shot during hunting season.

Wild cats being fed and encouraged to come into an area.

Animal activists angry that a cat got run over on a busy highway.

As far as I am concerned animal activists have taken a bit over the insanity mark and I do not support animal activists in any way. We have no right to dictate what Spain or any other country does in terms of that. It is up to there people to decide.

They lost my support 10 years ago and they have only gotten worse since then.

I realize how much flak I'm gonna get for this. But... Animals aren't people, and we shouldn't treat them as such. I mean, yeah, we shouldn't be making them fight, but at the same time, we shouldn't be giving them HUMAN rights. Human rights are reserved for humans. And not every animal being trained for entertainment is being treated cruelly. As a man who used to work for a circus. Mistreating the animals was grounds for IMMEDIATE termination of your position.

I used to be a raw vegan. Then I demoted to vegan. Then I demoted again to vegetarian. Now I am an omnivore.

Here's the thing: I do feel bad. I have lost sleep over animals being tortured. For some reason, I feel more empathy toward animals. I think it is because they don't have the level of consciousness we do. It breaks my heart, and I actually can't bear to think about it much. I don't watch those videos, just as I don't watch the news (murder, bombing, abuse). It is pure self torture, and I can honestly say that I donate as much as I can, and adopt pets/help out with other animals as I can.

However, this is something that will NEVER change. Just as you can't stop all murder, rape, assault, pedophilia, etc. My belief is that people should do what they can on their own levels, in their own immediate surroundings. Anything above that is, like I said, self torture.

    You said it!

Are people even aware that New Zealand has capital punishment for boat birds? That's right, a boatload of undocumented pigeons landed last week and most of them went on land and disappeared. But one was caught and given a DEATH SENTENCE.

I don't believe this is an effective deterrent. Desperate birds caught up in strife in their homelands should at least be given a hearing! So what if they are queue jumpers, the rest of the world is taking their fair share of the pigeon burden.

I don't even like pigeons, they walk funny, they coo instead of talking and there beaks are way too small. But with this death penalty the Kiwis have gone too far!

Animals should be treated humanely as far as possible. but the fact is that humans eat animals, and once you start talking about animal 'rights' the whole thing gets absurd. How can something you eat have rights?

We need to fight for our own kind before we fight for raging bulls. Honestly, all bulls would do that if they could. It's not just because they feel that they are "being used for entertainment." It's just what they do.
