Is it possible to be allergic to coconut milk...?
But not actual shaved coconut? Every time I eat anything with Coconut milk in it I get itchy and my hands swell up a bit. But I can eat shaved coconut all day long with no reaction whatsoever.
I'm thinking that, since I live in Austin, that I might just be experiencing the evil that is Ragweed season. But I dunno.

I'm deadly allergic to apples, but I can have applesauce. This is because when you cook up foods, you destroy the proteins. Maybe the shaved coconut is cooked. You could be allergic to something in the milk, though.

If the allergic reaction gets really bad I would suggest seeing a doctor or an allergist (Try taking allergy medication too and see if it works)
