For the past year I have been very tired, any ideas of what could be wrong?

Every two or three months I have a few weeks where I am really tired and feel sick, I could stay in bed all day if I wanted to. I don't feel like doing anything and it's hard to concentrate. This is coupled with an upset stomach at times. I have been to the doctor many times and have been told I have chronic tiredness and there is nothing I can do. I tried anti depressants and they didn't help either. I was anemic but I took iron pills and I was told it was fixed, but didn't feel any better.

I want to think of ideas of what could be wrong so i have something to go to the doctor with so I can maybe get more help this time, any suggestions?

I had these symptoms too and what I did was this: I took time release iron pills and a B vitamin pill twice a day. I also took celexa (40 mg a day) and I took 10 mg of melatonin at night to help me sleep better and as a side effect it improved my mood significantly as well as giving me energy I didn't have before.

If you are a female it could be really bad PMS coupled with SAD and/or another depression issue. I do hope you get better; I have been here before and it is a very horrible (very understated word) place to be.

    So to summarize

    * 40 mg of celexa (taken at night because it made me groggy)

---on a side note, I did not see any celexa benefits until 6 weeks after I started taking it

    * Time release iron pills (my dr prescribed this)

    * Melatonin (I take 10..this could be way too much for you...try a lower dose such as 3mg a night and see if that works)

    * A vitamin B pill that add all the B vitamins in it

Good luck and I hope that your issues get solved fast and permanently.

thyroid my mom has it mostly the same symptoms where you get tired easily and are similar to depression but has to do with having too little or too many hormones the ones in your throat.. some thing like that.. but yeah theres 2 types one that makes you loose weight really fast <-- that could be the cause of you anemia and theres one that makes you fat and makes it harder for you to loose weight. it cant be cured but its not like a HORRIBLE thing A LOTTTT of people have and you have to take pills every day but some people even have to take pills morning afternoon and evening ask your doctor about that my mom had the same symptoms

There are MANY different types of anemia. I personally have a B12 deffeincy which can cause extreme tiredness and other things like tingling, numbness, and headaches. Look up some different anemia types and their symptoms, it might answer your problems.

Epstein Barr & immune-deficient maladies could be the cause--see your doctor soon. Good luck
