is this normal?????????

So for the majority of my 25 years on this planet, I have been a fat underachieving loser compared to society standerds, now im trying to fix this at the age of 25. Im losing weight and trying to join the military, but im honestly scared of being in shape because I have never been in shape before. is this normal to be scared of something like this? I mean I just cant see myself like that and Im convinced it wont happen, plus I almost dont want it to happen

Most likely it's the fear of failing that is talking. Very common. I did it when I started my diet and it comes back into my mind every time I have a little "set back" during it. Would be no different than the fear of failing a math class or something else. Perfectly normall. First thing. Quit insulting yourself and blaming others (compared to society standards is how you put it) You set a goal for yourself which is perfect. Now work to it. Number one, work to your standard, and remember, you are in a shape now. Round is a shape. You are trying to improve your health and reach a goal you have. You may very well be oval when you reach it. so be it. Don't try to be a body builder you read in a book. Those pictures are photo shopped.

Source(s): I desided I was unhappy with myself 7 months ago, that I didn't want to be alone any more and I'd kinda like to have more kids. Right now i've lost 60 lbs, I'm not the shape and weight I wanted when I started but i'm the weight I can deal with and most say I look good at. I've met a very beautiful lady who I have no clue what she sees in me, but i'm going to be proud to be her husband, most likely in the spring. It's all attitude.

The obvious way to burn fat is to consume less food and move more often, the issues arise when we really aim to put that into operation! There are plenty of temptations in the real world aren't there?! I found some excellent advice by learning from the web portal in the box below, they have plenty of guidance, I melted away 5 pounds by using their methods.

after dating you for 3 +yrs let me tell you this out of friendship. you need to just get you butt up out of bed and do it!!!! and have confidence in knowing you can. the idea of changing who you are is scary and uncomfortable. but just think of all the great things that will come with the change!!! and maybe you need to change other things other then your weight. i mean it a start but its not your only weak spot. i wish you the best in all you do. never give up even when it gets hard to do. take care.

Robert, a major life change like you are planning will always bring resistance by the unconscious mind. It's OK to be apprehensive, but if you don't let it stop you, you'll not only survive, you'll live to be my age and more. Do it, man!

Source(s): Did the same thing, only later in life. I'm now 74.
