    Jeremiah 31:34

34 No longer shall they teach one another, or say to each other, "Know the LORD," for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the LORD; for I will forgive their iniquity, and remember their sin no more.

Many people have some grave misgivings about forgiveness.

It is not as simple and straight forward as many think.

Jesus said those who's sins on earth you may forgive are forgiven.

And those you may retain are retained.

John Ch: 20 Verse 23 Holy Bible.

You should study this indepth and all of this site. (link)

People think that the Catholic faith is soft on sinners.

And we are tired of being tarnished by the recent abuse revelations in the media. Yet those guilty are in serious trouble and have a massive journey of repentance to make. Our Lord Jesus Christ is absolutely horrified by and furious towards anyone who harms children and so are 99% of Catholics and Priests. So it isnt just a simple case of say sorry a few prayers then walk away and be forgiven. NO ! Not at all or by any stretch of the imagination. Repentance is very important !!

And forgiveness is NOT always going to be granted.

Personally I don't believe in "GOD" this way. Seeing how the word is Just a representation of a thought form trying to secure a idea they is always changing. But for simplification purposes so that you people can understand. Everything that is and that isn't is what you people call God. Personally I can less because the truth remains regardless of what knowledge anyone holds. But it forgives or it doesn't/ Does it really matter really? There is only a heaven or hell if you believe in that sort of thing. But if you seriously want a Christ centered lifestyle. I suggest checking out this link

God is incapable of forgetting, mainly because he does not exist in our time and dimension. Outside our time space continuum, God is constantly aware of the future, past, and present. He will know before you make a mistake what that mistake will be. God is the ultimate judge of your sins, for he forgives you of all your sins before you are born. That is, if you allow him. This is christian doctrine. I do not, personally, believe any of this to be true.

I have been raised Catholic and used to be an intense follower. This is the only true answer. Research the Pope's dissernment, and you will see that I am right. If you believe otherwise, you are claiming that God is not omniscient (all knowing) and 'all powerful'.

Not Catholic but I know this one. Heavenly Father forgives our sins and remembers them no more. Only Father can do this but He does forget them.

When that slate is wiped clean,it is wiped clean!. This is why baptism symbolises one of my children shedding their old life and putting on the new.,but even the new must be continually monitored and fixes done to your individual hearts by way of penance and induligences.,hears a blessing,a prayer ,and a our father said just for you. Practice the holy rosary, practice makes perfect. we love you all,the holy family.

He doesn't forget like you and I forget. However, He does forgive them and doesn't think of them again, unless we don't forgive those who trespass against us.

From the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 18, "21 Then came Peter unto him and said: Lord, how often shall my brother offend against me, and I forgive him? Till seven times? 22 Jesus said to him: I say not to you, till seven times; but till seventy times seven times. 23 Therefore is the kingdom of Heaven likened to a king, who would take an account of his servants. 24 And when he had begun to take the account, one was brought to him, that owed him ten thousand talents. 25 And as he had not wherewith to pay it, his lord commanded that he should be sold, and his wife and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. 26 But that servant falling down, besought him, saying: Have patience with me, and I will pay you all. 27 And the lord of that servant being moved with pity, let him go and forgave him the debt. 28 But when that servant had gone out, he found one of his fellow-servants that owed him an hundred pence: and laying hold of him, he throttled him, saying: Pay what you owe. 29 And his fellow-servant falling down, besought him, saying: Have patience with me, and I will pay you all. 30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he paid the debt. 31 Now his fellow servants seeing what was done, were very much grieved, and they came, and told their lord all that was done. 32 Then his lord called him: and said to him: You wicked servant, I forgave you all the debt, because you besought me: 33 Should you not then have had compassion also on your fellow servant, even as I had compassion on you? 34 And his lord being angry, delivered him to the torturers until he paid all the debt. 35 So also shall My Heavenly Father do to you, if you forgive not every one his brother from your hearts."
