What is meant by, "If you want to know what God thinks about money, look at the people He gives it to"?
I've always wanted to know what this popular quote means. I agree with the answers, it's quite difficult to discern its meaning.

The parable where the master gives one servant some $ ===> the servant triples the $$$ ===> the master gives a different servant some $ & this servant doubles the $$ ===> the master gives the money to a different servant, and this servant burries it in the ground to which the master was miffed that this servant didn't even earn interest ... therefore, the master will trust those who will do much with the little he gives.

One website includes this quote as well:
""It is generally agreed, that few men are made better by affluence or exaltation."
~Samuel Johnson
Perhaps the fact that it is difficult to ascertain the meaning is because it is difficult to identify God's position. People either want a resounding "It's awful. Give it all away" or they want some flavor of the wretched "Prosperity Gospel" virus.
Perhaps God prefers us to work with Him individually to determine whether or not our position on it affects our walk with Him.

Well look at those who have a lot of money, you'll usually find recurring themes and personality traits. This is what god thinks of money. Suppose it depends on a persons experience with the rich though

Not sure what the person who said that meant, but that seems a silly statement in the West where even the poorest among us live better than kings did a century or so ago.

I often wonder that! I really do because there are people who don't even deserve to win the lottery.
