Why does watch-movies keep asking me to download xvid?

watch-movies.net.in now only includes links to sites that either require a credit card or have you install an xvid plug in that they link to for you. I've installed it and reinstalled it several times and it keeps telling me I'm missing it.

I know it's not the site because people comment on the videos and give them ratings.

what am I doing wrong?

thanks. :D

You are downloading viruses. The comments on the movies on those sites are cloned from other sites that they are trying to resemble in order to get you to trust them. They are not real.

I would strongly suggest a virus scan, and that you no longer visit that site.

Any personal information that you give on those sites will be used to scam/spam you.

Anything that you download from those sites has a high probability of being a virus/malware.

    Edit-

Tanner: They said that they have downloaded and redownloaded xvid and it still fails to work. This is a pretty big warning sign that what the site is requesting that they download is not, in fact, xvid at all, but malware. If you already have xvid installed, and it is still telling you that you need to download something, you'd better double check what it is that you are downloading. Remember that they can say anything that they like. They can name the malware file anything that they like. If something doesn't seem right, it probably isn't. If you've got the program already, and it's telling you to download it because you don't have it...that should send up a pretty big red flag.

If you must download something, always download it from the creator of the program's main site, and not a link from a third party site. This will ensure that you're downloading the actual program, and not something malicious trying to disguise itself as something innocent.

Viruses. That's what illegal sites like watch-movies are all about - infecting as many computeres as possible. They know criminals are greedy and gullible and therefore easy marks.
