Why do people who live on culdesacs have to walk a little to their bus stop?

I live on a culdesac and I have had to walk to the top of my street to wait for the bus all my life. I see other kids getting dropped off right at their houses and I am jealous of them. Should I ask my bus driver to let my off right at my house instead of the corner so I don't have to walk nearly a quarter mile to and from my house all the time?

It's really hard, if not impossible for a bus to move around in a cul-de-sac. They barely have enough space for a car to make a turn with other cars parked around the curb.

Walking a quarter-mile is nothing, I used to walk a mile from school to my house everyday.

I've almost always had to do the same thing. A little bit of walking never hurt anybody.
