Can you find any similarities between your favorite all-time and current player?

So like...

position/teams/accomplishments/birth place/etc.

*and don't forget to mention who the 2 players are*

Example:

Mike Timlin *AllTime* and Clay Buchholz *Current* are both Texas-born pitchers who were on the 2007 Red Sox WS team.

BQ: Who are your picks for the Cy Young awards as of now? Both AL and NL.

Update:

@Machine Head: Oh those 2 have NOTHING in common! They are sooo different X]

Pedro Martinez (all-time) and Kevin Youklis (current): Both are very intense and intelligent players who absolutely hate to lose and often rub opposing fans the wrong way but are extremely fun to root for.

    BQ - Buchholz and Wainwright

  • All time: Babe Ruth

    Current: Evan Longoria

Well both wear #3 when they were/are playing. But Ruth was an outfielder while Longo is an infielder. And Ruth was born in Maryland while Longoria was born in California.

BQ: AL- Either CC Sabathia, David Price or Cliff Lee

NL- Adam Wainwright or Matt Latos

Hmm.. well Ted Williams and Dustin Pedroia are both MVP winners, and both were born in California.

    BQ:

AL: Probably Clay Buchholz, though I may be a tiiiny bit biased =P I think I'd choose between him or David Price at this point. Sabathia's been great too but I'd say either Buchholz or Price.

    NL: Adam Wainwright

Well Nolan Ryan never won any awards in his career despite being regarded as elite pitcher back in his days. Michael Young has won an All-Star MVP, a Gold Glove, and a batting title.

The only similarity I can think of is that neither of them competed in a World Series.

    Posistion:

    Gonzales- OF

    Thomas- 1B/DH

    BQ:

    AL- Clay Buchholz

  • All time= Reggie Jackson Position OF

Both are complete opposites. Jackson was a stuck up hothead but backed it up while Jeter is always humble.

    John Smoltz and Brian McCann.

This isn't really a similarity, but it's kind of cool, McCann's favoite player growing up was Smoltz.

They both are balding...umm...they both won a silver slugger (but Mac has three). They both played for the Braves. They both throw right. They're both All-Stars. I think that's it. They don't have much in common.

    BQ:

    AL- Probaly Price or Sabthia

    NL- Tim Hudson
