Do you think if I name my son "Aamion" that he will get teased for it?
I have always loved the name since I first heard it (professional surfer Aamion Goodwin) but my husband's family thinks he will be made fun of and that people may call him "Amy" to be mean. It is pronounced just like Damien just without the "D". Are they being paranoid or am I setting my kid up for teasing?

I like it a lot. I don't think that anyone will tease him since most of the kids nowadays have different and weird names anyway.

If you really want, just make Aamion his middle name and call him that until he's around 10. If he doesn't like it or if he gets made fun of for it, just let him know what his first name is. That's what happened to my mother. My grandfather always wanted a Troy, so her middle name became Troy. She was always made fun of for it, so my grandparents told her that her first name was Athena. This is also the case with my little brother. His first name is Anthony, but he goes by his middle name, Joseph, or Joey.

I wouldn't worry about it. There are alot of different names nowadays. Face it, your child will not escape school without being teased for something. Its just what kids do.

I like it. I like unique and different names though. I posted a question last night about my son being named XZANDYR JMES and boy did I get, ridiculed, picked on, laughed at and even called a TROLL. lol. If u like it then I wouldnt worry about what people thought. Just b prepared to have him have to spell his name for people like I am going to have to with xzandyr. lol. good luck.

Idk he may or he may not. The only nickname that you could easily get out of that is Amy so if anyone where to shorten his name to quickly call him he would probably get Amy. I honestly don't think the name is all that teasable. Parents are naming their kids some pretty ridiculous things now a days.
