How many of you are currently working as a temp?

I am currently in the 10th month of a one year assignment and the job is great as well as the compliments and ability to network with others in case a position opens up. So how many of you are in this situation now and have any you moved from temp to perm?

I was a temp and now a permanent recently. Originally I was a temp for someone on maturity leave and her position requires one person. Anyways it was 1 year contract but around the 6th month my manager hinted he is working a permanent post for me. Anyways 12.1 months later I am a permanent for a new position the mat leave person just came back 2 weeks ago. I just worked hard while I was a temp and plus I have Computer Science degree so I help with progamming jobs and mainly get ISO accrediation for hte lab. Unfortunately I want to leave because I always wanted to be a Data Analyst I joined the government agency hoping it might allow me to apply to internal data analyst post but unfortunately there isn't a lot of Analyst posts if there is they have someone in mind they want to hire and plus I want to go back to the healthcare industry since I minored in Life Science. Currently not in healthcare field. Lastly I started out doing data entry and admin work so I was level 4 now I am level 5 because the temp post go moved up and the higher the level more ppl would apply to. The thing is I should be level 6 at least since customer service and officers are level 6 and these are held by people who didn't even finish college. Even technicians with college electrical education are level 6 so I feel a little riped off since if I apply to level 6 to get higher salary I have to give up my computer programming education.
