Can cds be purchased in iso formatting?

My boss wants to put pictures into his navigational system in his car. The car manual says that the pictures need to be on a cd with Iso 9660 format. Do most blank cds in the store come like this? Or can they be specifically ordered? Or is there a program I have to use on the computer to format them?

ISO9660 is a standard CD format that any CD burning software can create. Blank CDs can be burned any way that's needed--it's the software that determines the format laid down on the CD. Good free CD/DVD burning software that can burn ISO9660 includes ImgBurn:

Using a program like Nero to burn a CD automatically uses the ISO 9660 format. If you have CD-RW you can 'format' and rewrite information to it.

CDs cannot be formatted. I think you just burn a cd in a data format. Does the manual say nothing about the type of the pictures (bmp, jpeg, tiff?). Just burn the pictures with a program like NERO on the CD. And close the CD .i.e nothing could be added afterwards to the CD.

Use the FAT system of formating
