I came on YA looking for a solution to a Gardening problem I was having (Brocolli not sprouting) and I noticed a random question about the Beatles, I answered it and got top answer, I never looked back.
BQ: The Beatles.
BQ2: Definitely yes, I probably appreciate a lot more contemporary stuff now.

Well, I'm always using the internet for searching stuff up. I've used Y!A longer than I've been an actual member. I always seen Y!A in the Google search results. I started by just reading all the useful answers on the site (and the funny ones). I stumbled upon the Rock and Pop section the same way. I found out there was a huge community of people into the same music. So I decided to create my own account and start out new. Since then I've talked to many people on here with tons of knowledge about music....
BQ2: I've heard about many bands from Y!A and from other people. All the recommendations I've gotten from other users have been great too.

I say it was the summer of 07 when Y!A was running those commercials. I wanted to see what it was. I didn't really get on much my first two years and when I did it was mostly in P&S or TV/Comedy. However I was 15 at the time and was only starting to get into music and movies (on a more serious level) and I think as my interest grew in those areas I drifted towards those sections. Eventually I started spending more time on Y!A. Now I mostly stay in R&P, However I do still visit movies occasionally.
BQ: Well in 08 before I became a reg it was either Third Eye Blind or Coldplay.
BQ2: Well it has kept me interested in music I will say. I think Pandora, Last.fm, and Grooveshark have helped me expand my music taste the most. But R&P has probably played a part in there somewhere.

Whenever I had a question, I'd Google it and Yahoo!Answers kept coming up near the top of the results, so one day I decided to see what the fuss was. Originally interested in the Music Players section, it was just natural for me to check out the Music one.
BA: Nightwish

I have heard about Yahoo! Answers for a long time, so i decided to get it a few months ago. I was dealing with lots of **** at the time, but then I came across the R&P section and I have been hooked ever since.
BA: Blur. Without Y!A, "Song 2" would be the only song I know.
BA2: Definitely.

i don't remember how i found yahoo answers, but shortly after i found the website i looked for the music sections and after looking at the rock and pop section i took a look at the first page or so of questions and immediately dismissed it as worthless. kinda funny 3 years of being a top contributor later.
