didn't we all answer this before? - - I think what I said is send her a coupon good for one spectacular day out, dinner and a show next time you are here - - second choice would be to send her money and tell her to take her parents or friends out - - really stuff like flowers or perfume is a very Western, nice thing - - how many times have I seen the eye roll from a Thai lady when they get such gifts, especially if they are not wealthy - it just seems to them like a big waste of money - - they really consider it foolish more than romantic - -

And I am with you!! I am so sick of everyone calling all Thai ladies hookers and HIV and everything else - - I guess they are just jealous or screwed up or both.

That said I agree with the other posts that it is not really a Thai thing with the exception of valentines day which is now becoming heavily marketed.

All the online florists are expensive and charge those kind of prices. The only way you would get the Thai price is to call a florist in Thailand. But then you have a payment problem - you won't get the Thai price paying with a U.S. credit card over the phone, even if they could process it.

Perhaps your only option would be to contact someone in Thailand who would purchase the flowers for you, like one of those places that offers a shopping service at a reasonable price. I've used a translation service to do it before - they accept paypal and they cost a lot less than the online florists. Contact the people at the link and ask if they will do it.

Couldn't you just go to walmart or a craft store and find a simple little basket and add some flowers to match the rest of the wedding? Or is there something different that makes it a "flower girl basket"?

Did you try Miss Lily? It's thai online flower shop. It's not cheap like local shops, but easier for your to order and pay.

If you know anything about Thailand and Thai girls you would know flowers is not going to be something she will like. It's just not a Thai custom. What you should do is buy her something from the States that is unique and speical between you and her, and mail it to her with a card.. It will be something she will always remember.
