Christians, do you have evidence for your agruement?

Just say why you think your position is tbe correct one in detail.

As A side note (even though it takes up most of the description)

I would like to ask you all to KEEP YOUR TROLLS IN THEIR CAGES!

That means:

* Making an intelligent answer

* Not simply saying I'm right or that the other side has no proof

* Don't take this as an opportunity to be hateful/rude towards other's beliefs

This may come as a uprise to some of you when I say that I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT OTHER'S BELIEFS!

Yes, there is proof. There is prophecy in the Bible that is over 2000 years old that has come true, and is continuing to come true. One of the best examples of this, is prophecy about the nation of Israel (all of it very specific).

Right now, there are Bible scholars and prominent rabis who believe that the war of "Gog and Magog" talked about in Revelations is on the verge of happening.

There is a lot of other prophecy in the Bible that has come to pass, and worth looking into, but there is a lot concerning the Nation of Israel in particular. God bless.

As a Christian, it is of paramount importance that I show respect towards others and their beliefs. Thank you for permitting me to share my own.

About the most cogent argument I can muster is the teleological argument. Many philosophers have used this argument to support their belief in the existence of God. You can use just about any artifact as an example: a watch, a table, or a chair are some examples. All of these objects did not just appear. They were created. When you examine the cosmos, all of these things that we can see were created. A table cannot simply will itself into existence. It has to have a maker. The carpenter requires wood, nails, tools, and other materials to assemble the table. The table is the result of an intelligent being assembling it. So it is with all things in the universe, including the stars, the planets, and even us. We are no accident. There is some divine design and great purpose to our existence. I believe that God was the prime mover that created the cosmos, and also created human beings. God is the analogue of the carpenter, or a watchmaker.

    * Archaeological findings that verify things even in the Old Testament. (Contrast to Mormonism where lots of details, like places, have not been verified)

    * Historical evidence - Early non-christian historians accounted for details such as Jesus' death, the eclipse like effect during his crucifixion, his "miracles" (although not explained as being from God), and his followers who were willing to die for the truth. The very detailed accounts were examined for errors, and even some that were suspected to be made up, like the existence of Hittites were proved by later archaeological findings.

    * Amazing manuscript accuracy - Evidence that it was faithfully copied, much better than most other ancient manuscripts. Dead sea scrolls show the Old Testament was dated before Jesus, including the Jewish prophecies of Jesus.

    * Eyewitness accounts - Gospels written by eyewitnesses, so if they were wrong, someone could have spoken out early. Compare to other religions where it's not written down until centuries later. I think Islam was one of these.

    * Jesus was not only prophesied of, but also prophesied of the future. He fulfills Jewish Messianic prophecies. The odds of Jesus fulfilling all the prophecies was calculated by mathematicians to be very very low. It included prophecy of the time that Jesus would come, so some Jews were mourning, because the time had passed and they didn't accept Jesus as that savior. By the way, I believe the bible also predicts the Jews will not recognize Jesus even so...

In what sense are you using "evidence" - scientific or historical?

The historical evidence for the bible is monolithic, despite what the cadre of brain-dead naysayers in this place and elsewhere say.

For example - it was once claimed that Pontius Pilate never existed (one of the atheists favorite ploys; simply claim that so-and-so never existed); then, the "Pilate Inscription" was found and guess whose name was on it? Pontius Pilate.

You people who continuously ask for "evidence" in the broad field of the historical record simply miss the boat every time you ask this inane question.

It's obvious you wouldn't see the evidence if it fell out of the sky and hit you on top of your thick skulls.

    1) Christians, do you have evidence for your agruement?

That depends entirely on the "argument". When disagreeing with someone, I sometimes have evidence and sometimes have nothing more than my preferences. For example: do I have evidence in my argument regarding which ice cream flavor tastes best? No - but if someone tells me that chocolate is the best, I *will* disagree with them.

So me loving you and wanting a better life for you is an argument. How? Proof is for God himself, not us. I am to tell you through Jesus you can know God.

    bless you.

    John 14:6-7 (New International Version)

6Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7If you really knew me, you would know[a] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."

I've said this a million times here so the whole evidence question isn't even relevant anymore. but on a side note, sasuke is awesome and i hope kishimoto doesn't kill him off.

  • I have history, science, common sense, all confirming that what the King James Bible says is the perfect word of God without even ONE mistake in it.

our religion is based on faith..we don't need proof..nor do we have a burden of proof upon us...we merely tell you about christ and why he came...if you cant believe,it may be that its not in you...or maybe you wont give it an honest shot to find out for yourself

I am no longer Christian as I realized we have no proof and I shall be greatly disappointed when I see there is no Heaven or Hell. Now I believe that we are re-born (past lives). Now that, there is proof of :)
