I'm a high schooler who enjoys discussing religion and God. My religion is Christianity, but it isn't a "religion" as most people define it. Instead of having an entire set of rules and regulations I have to follow in order to get to heaven or gain approval from God, I strive to have a personal relationship with God. This doesn't mean that I don't have rules I feel I have to follow, it just means ( in my belief ) that his love for me isn't dependent on whether or not I follow them. PS. If you try and start an argument or insult me, I will block you. I will only use polite discussion as a means of conversation.
Is it wrong to say that someone is wrong about their beliefs?
Would that be intolerant? Should we say that someone is wrong in their belief that it is right to say that someone is wrong about their religion? Or is that a paradox?
Your thoughts (not rants) on this would be appreciated.
I will give the most well thought out and well explained answer the best answer even if it is oppositional to my views on the subject.
( unless its pro-cannibalism or something extreme like that)
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoShouldn't non-Christians be angry when Christians DON'T tell them about Jesus?
Since Christians believe that if you don't have Jesus then you'll go to a lake of burning fire filled with eternal pain, suffering, and torment FOREVER..............wouldn't you be mad if you weren't being witnessed to around every corner?
If they wouldn't tell you about something relating to how you could avoid an ETERNITY in suffering and gain an alternative eternity in Bliss and wonder, what else wouldn't they tell you about?
Whats to say that they would tell you about something less important. Like if a bus was about to run you over. Why would they warn you?
If they wouldn't tell you about something more important because.........because it would bother you. Because you might get mad at them. because that would be "intolerant of the path you were on.".
If they would use pathetic excuses like that not to witness.....dang, what WOULD they tell you about? What WOULD they let happen to you? Let you die?
Instead of being happy, Shouldn't you be angry at them For showing so little consideration to you?
22 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDarwinists (People who believe in Evolution), Is this information about evolution credible?
I would like only people who agree with evolution to evaluate this information. This is because I want to check my sources using people who disagree with me as to lessen the bias of information.
If you're the kind of person who writes off a person just because of their faith this may not be a question you'll want to waste your time with.

13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoPro-choicers, Effective agruement against Abortion?
First off, I'm not asking whether or not this turns you into a die hard pro-lifer. I'm asking whether or not these are effective points against non-life threatening pregnancy situations.
This is a LONG read. If you don't have the time to read ALL of the link then you don't need to be answering the question.

7 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoDo you think that it is wrong to kill a 4 month old baby?
Here is the situation. (hypothetical)
A mom is on an island with one other person. There are no other people on that island but the two of them
She has had a child out of rape. She doesn't want to care for this child
This child is 4 months old. He has many health problems.
Whenever the mother looks at the child she remembers the horrible event which caused the child to be born
but the child is absolutely dependent on the mother for survival ( His arms and legs are broken)
Also, a ship will arrive in 9 months to pick up the mother. This ship has many adoptive parents who would love to take the mother's child as their own.
The mother has one of two choices:
1. Leave the Child / kill the child
2. Take care of the child until the ship comes
What should the mother do? Would she be justified in killing the child?
Reasons she should be able to abandon the child:
* Its her body. Why should she be obligated into using her body for tasks such as gathering food, changing diapers, and breastfeeding. Doesn't she have the right to use her body however she wishes?
* The baby is dependent on the mother for survival. This gives the mother the right to not allow the child to live. She shouldn't be forced to use up unnecessary energy to help this child.
* The child isn't even fully developed. Right now, since the child isn't a finished work he is only a potential life. Potential live isn't equal to life.
* The child was made out of rape. This brings VERY LARGE AMOUNTS of stress upon the mother so she should be able allow the child to die.
6 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoDo you think that you can get into heaven just by being good? If so, how good is good enough?
How do you know that this standard of good is THE standard.
And if not, how do you get into heaven?
What assures you of the credibility of your viewpoint?
Obviously, if you don't believe in God or heaven then this question doesn't apply to you. Saying whether or not you believe in God doesn't apply as an answer to this question.
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDo you think that there are multiple paths to heaven? If so, why is this the logical position to have?
If you do believe in multiple paths, what do you think makes your view worth keeping with the possibility that you may be wrong? Can you logically support your stance?
If you don't believe in multiple paths, what is it that makes you certain that you've found the correct path? Why should others follow the path you've found.
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAre these danger signs?
1. Feeling a sharpish pain in the muscle you are working out with. Not enough pain to adversely affect form but it is noticible.
2. Not feeling tired at all but not being able to put out near as many reps as you are normally able too.
3. You work out for a while and you get a bit tipsy from tiredness without feeling muscle fatigue.
4. Shoulders are mildly irritated and inflamed
( Doesn't adversely affect my form in shoulder exersizes but it is uncomfortable and annoying.)
Should I stop when I feel these things? How dangerous would it be to continue working out if any of these signs are present.
Also, I'm a 15 year old male ( Skinny, but in good shape) and I'm about 5 feet 9 inches
1 AnswerDiet & Fitness1 decade agoMy shoulders are flared up. Should I do any shoulder exersizes?
They don't hurt, per say, But they are very irritated and uncomfortable.
2 AnswersMen's Health1 decade agoIf unborn babies are alive....?
When would it be okay to abort? Why would this ussurp the right to live?
If you don't think that the unborn are alive and having human rights then just PRETEND. This is a hypothetical situtation
By alive I mean:
Exhibiting life processes
Being a human being
Having human rights (one of which is the right to live)
2 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoAbortion agruements from pro-lifers?
Give me your best agruements. No slogans, opinions, or simply screaming things like "well its wrong, think about it."
Give a logical thought out answer. If you're on the right side then you should be able to come up with an answer.
Pro-choice people I don't want to hear anything out of you on THIS question. I'll post a link to a question that I've directed towards you.
9 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoIf unborn Children are alive should abortion automatically become illegal/wrong?
In detail:
Since the Unborn Children (in this situation) are alive as well as human (thus bestowed with human rights.) What of the human rights would allow the woman to superceed the Child's right to live. And please don't give me any of the following agruements...
Raped woman has right to abort because she is miserable
(I do feel MAJOR sympathy for the women in this situation but life is in bigger priority than comfort.)
The child would be miserable or disabled so it must die
( Then it would be okay to kill a sleeping 2 month old in a bad home or who has a disability.)
The woman would die in Birth
( I already agree that in this situation that the woman has a choice because it is Life vs. Life rather than life vs. comfort. so posting that wouldn't be necessary)
Well the child isn't alive so it doesn't matter
( this is a hypothetical situation so use your imagination if you think the child isn't alive.)
PS. I already am firm in my stance (child is alive and it is wrong in most situations to abort) and nothing will change my mind. I've seen the best of the best duke it out on this issue and the pro lifers came on top. Just be forewarned that any attempts to make a disbeliever out of me are wasted.
I just want to see what the Y!A community has to say about this issue.
10 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoChristians, do you have evidence for your agruement?
Just say why you think your position is tbe correct one in detail.
As A side note (even though it takes up most of the description)
I would like to ask you all to KEEP YOUR TROLLS IN THEIR CAGES!
That means:
* Making an intelligent answer
* Not simply saying I'm right or that the other side has no proof
* Don't take this as an opportunity to be hateful/rude towards other's beliefs
This may come as a uprise to some of you when I say that I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT OTHER'S BELIEFS!
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhere do people in the religion section get their psychic powers from?
They seem to psychically know what ENTIRE PEOPLE GROUPS believe and how they think, and even why they believe what they believe! If there is some sort of genie giving out free powers or something I want in on it.
DON'T ANY OF YOU STAR MY QUESTION! I HATE THOSE THINGS!
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhats a fundamentalist Christian?

I want just the facts and no opinions please.
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoMuslims, what evidence do you have to support your position?

Because our holy book says so
Because all other religions are false
Because I am in the true religion
Please SUPPORT your stance!
