Abortion agruements from pro-lifers?

Week 6 in fetal development, brain waves are detectable, a sign of activity (processing information, 'learning' if you will)

Week 17: The baby can have dream (REM) sleep.

Week 19: Babies can routinely be saved at 21 to 22 weeks after fertilization, and sometimes they can be saved even younger.

Unfortunately to support this i can mainly find pro-life sites, But this is also what i was taught, in the UK, In child development, and children's health and social care.

My biggest argument Against it is it being used as contraception. I believe if the child is going to have a poor quality of life (IE pain or staving to death etc) then it isn't fair to keep it, It also isn't fair if the mother cannot physically and/or mentally cope with the pregnancy. A friend of mine was raped at 14, she killed herself after giving birth to her son cos she couldn't cope with what had happened. I ws raped at 16 and i could cope with the fact that she was my rapists child, because she IS my child as well, and i'm sure a lot of people can cope with how they got pregnant ad SHOULD really keep it, why should you have an abortion on the NHS over here EVERY time you go out, get pissed and don't use something? Surely even pro-choicers must agree the amount of women using it as contraception IS wrong. One of my 'friends' has had 11, she's 20, and every single one of them has been because she forgot to use contraception, Is it right that she can have 11 of them, for free, when she made the mistake?

Well, I believe that Abortions are wrong for various reasons. Abortion are typically done after the fetus already has a heartbeat ( approx 6 weeks.) In my opinion, if there is a heartbeat, there is life. The longer the pregnancy goes, the more developed the fetus is. At 12 weeks, many of the child's organs are formed. In an ultrasound you can see the developing nervous system.

Too many abortions are done for "selfish" reasons. Also, if these people didn't want to get pregnant, then maybe they should have done MORE to not be in this situation. Sure, you hear, "my birth control method failed." But everyone knows that no form of birth control is 100%! That is why people who seriously don't want children use a BACK UP! Or, even better, what is wrong with NOT HAVING SEX. Because obviously these people aren't ready for the responsibilities of having sex. And abstinence is the ONLY 100 percent birth control method.

What a lot of people also don't realize is that there are lots of side effects to abortions. Many women who have had them suffer from depression, eating disorders, suicidal thoughts and drug and alcohol addictions. Also, there are other PHYSICAL risks to having abortions. Women who have abortions are at risk of infection, which can be fatal. Others problems could be infertility. And also, new studies have shown a link between abortions and breast cancer.

The BOTTOM line is, there are other options. As I said before, many abortions are done for selfish reasons, such as: "My bf isn't supportive," " I want to live my life." "I just want to be young and have fun," " I want to graduate on time," etc, etc. Well none of these things are usually affected by the pregnancy alone. SO WHY NOT CONSIDER ADOPTION???? People need to remember that this child didn't ask to be created. And whether they want to believe it or not, it is still life. An innocent life that deserves a chance. If they don't want raise the child, the least they could do is spare 9 months of their "busy" lives to grow the baby. Then, give it to someone who can't have children. Not everyone is blessed with the ability to have a baby. And for those ppl, a child is the ultimate gift.

Now, in saying all that. I sit here in a mother's point of view. Everyday, I look at my children and don't know what I would do without them. When I read questions like yours, all I can think of is what I would have missed out on if I had an abortion. To me, its an unbearable thought. My life isn't always sunshine and rainbows, but I would never trade it for the world.

I am not very religious. I do believe there is right and wrong in the world. I do believe that good people have morals.

An abortion stops a heart beat. I have low hormones and habitually miscarry if not given hormones very early in the pregnancy. The OB confirms there is a heartbeat by vaginal ultrasound, before the drugs are prescribed. 15 days after my missed period, I can see the heartbeat on ultrasound.

The death penalty kills criminals, most of them by lethal injection. Gone are the days of being sawn asunder, or drawn and quartered. Those are considered barbaric. Many people want to stop the death penalty because they are afraid of a few innocent people dying. All babies are innocent. ALL OF THEM. The serial murderer has more people fighting to protect his life, then an innocent baby in the womb. It is interesting to note that lethal injection contains two drugs. One to make the person unconscious, and another to stop the heart. The person is made unconscious so they do not feel the heart seize. It isn't cruel and unusual punishment for a live baby to die this way, but a mass murderer must be given something to prevent pain. They are both living and breathing. There are also saline abortions that are performed, which turn the babies skin black. If a person broke into a hospital nursery and killed a 30 week-er, he would be charged with murder,and rightly so. Across the street in a clinic, another 30 week-er can be dismembered alive, and that is protected by law. They both had beating hearts, and working brains. One was breathing oxygen and the other amniotic fluid. That is the only thing that separates them.Cutting the cord does not miraculously change a clump of cells into a baby. It always was a baby.

It is a baby. Killing a baby is murder. Some people call it ethic cleansing (That's what the Nazis thought.) Is it any wonder that it kills more black people than the top 7 killers like heart disease combined?? http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/55956. If you want to think of it this way, pro-choice people are anti-black. They are racist because they choose to support a practice that hits the black population very hard.

I don't attack people with pro choice. But I know that I couldn't never abort and for me personally it'd always be Pro Life.Unless ofcourse I was in a horrible situation like a rape attack, something beyond my means.

That is only because there is a heart beating by the time most people realize they're pregnant. I had a friend abort and the baby was fully formed and the bits and organs with fingernails(little details) by the time she aborted. It's possibly my parents could've done that too me, it was a life stopped. I believe in fate. I think I'm more pro-adoption if you can't have a baby.

I don't know. I'm only 6 weeks and 5 days but my baby has already a beating heart and its arms and legs are forming. It feels so real to me. I don't consider it just a fetus. It is my baby.

It horrors me when people find no other way out than abortion. Since there are so many other ways to deal with it.

If it has a heartbeat, it's alive and abortions should be considered "man slaughter". Just because the baby is not outside of the womb, the heartbeat makes it a real living human.

Every life has a right to that life. From the moment of conception we are a life created from two beings. By aborting this life we take away that right.

In every action of intercourse (sex) we accept the "risks" of getting pregnant whether or not we use protection it is understood that pregnancy can still occur. It is in this understanding that we accept to care, protect and love the life if it is created.

In any human rights issue it is said that innocent lives should be protected. In the argument that pregnancies in the event of rape should be allowed to be terminated I personally think this is wrong. The child created is innocent and should be treated as such. In the case the rapist is caught, they should be on permanent life probation and be allowed to work where 90% of his income goes to the mother and child.

Maybe if you named the question something more controversial and something that would catch a readers eye, maybe you'd have more answers. I'm not being rude, just saying if you really want answers, then ask again with a more dramatic question.
