Do you think that you can get into heaven just by being good? If so, how good is good enough?
How do you know that this standard of good is THE standard.
And if not, how do you get into heaven?
What assures you of the credibility of your viewpoint?
Obviously, if you don't believe in God or heaven then this question doesn't apply to you. Saying whether or not you believe in God doesn't apply as an answer to this question.
:l
Honestly people, please read the description. If I'm saying that the answer doesn't apply to you it would be reasonable to conclude that I neither value nor want your opinion.

Well no one can get to heaven by doing good deeds. The standard is God and God is a perfect and holy being. We on the other hand contradict his character. The bible says, " The fool says in his heart,
"There is no God."They are corrupt, their deeds are vile;there is no one who does good. The LORD looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt;there is no one who does good, not even one." Psalms 14:1-4. There is no one good in the sight of God because we are naturally corrupt. For example you don't have to teach to lie or be violent. In fact we have to teach them not to be those things.
The bible also says in another part that by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified in his sight. The law of God is a reflection of his perfect holy character and the only way one can be considered good enough is if they keep ALL the commandments and never break a single one, for it is written, ""Cursed is the man who does not uphold the words of this law by carrying them out." Deuteronomy 27:26. And no human being can perfectly do this. The law simply shows us that there is no way we can off our strength be good in God's sight or get ourselves into heaven.
Now the way to get to heaven has been made when God sent his Son who became a man. The perfect man conformed completely to God's law and never disobeyed him to die on a cross and take the curse that I mentioned about, the curse that mankind deserves. Jesus took all of that so that men would turn from theirs sins and put their faith in him so he can reconcile them back to God. Christ's goodness is accounted to whoever believes in him so God remembers their sin no more and God sees that person as good in his sight. Not because of anything the person has done, but everything Christ did for them.
What assures me of this is this, "And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us." Romans 5:5. I am a changed person and proof that Christ is indeed who he claimed to be those 2000 years ago and that he is alive today. He can save anyone who personally trusts in him since all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
God bless you.

You asked a most interesting question. This concept of "how good is good enough" is something that affects just about every religion in the world except the Christian faith. Here's why.
Those of us who believe the Bible to be true, and that God is perfect, and that anything less than absolute perfection automatically disqualifies anyone for Heaven, know that we humans have no eternal goodness at all. True, there may be some altruism or sense of doing good to someone else, but the problem is much deeper. The problem of goodness goes all the way to the soul.
We believe, also, that there is none who does good and there is no one who is righteous. Paul said this in Romans 3:10 and 3:23 as well as other scriptures. Any goodness we receive comes from God and it's one of the fruits of the Spirit, IAW Galatians 5.
So if anyone wants to enter heaven, he or she would either need to be as perfect as God Himself (which isn't going to happen) or to receive God's provision.
Jesus Christ provided all we need to enter Heaven. Admit that you're a sinner, and cannot save yourself; believe that Jesus, alone, is the remedy for that problem of sin; and confess with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord. When anyone calls on the name of the Lord, he or she will be saved. Period. No questions asked. See Romans 10:9-14 for the scripture passage.

Did not Christ Himself say: Mark 10:18 And Jesus said to him: Why do you call me good? None is good but one, that is God.
So anyone who does good, is following the impulse of the Holy Spirit.
Is the Holy Spirit only for those who are aware? The Lord brought us all into existence. We must be humble and learn from others.

There is not a thing you can do good enough. You are not being compared to anything. The only way to the Father is His Son, Jesus. Repent and make Him the Lord of your life

I am a flawed human, my righteousness is as a filthy rags. So not by my own merits do I enter into heaven but on Jesus's merits do I enter into the pearly gates. Our standards are not God's and its his house you want to enter.

No one can work their way into the Kingdom Of God. We must accept salvation from God. He sent Jesus, his son to live a sinless life on this earth and to die on a cross to pay for our sins. We need to repent of our sins and ask God to forgive us. If you want to verify this please read Romans Chapter 8 in the Holy Bible.

Being good does not constitute going to heaven. Having said that doing nothing with your salvation guarantees hell.

If a deciding guide were to exist (it doesn't), it would determine what gets you to "heaven," not a minister or anyone else on this forum.
