What favorite book did your parents read to you over and over again when you were a child?
Some of you might have fond memories of a particular book which you kept asking your parents to read to you. I am interested in what you can remember about having someone read to you.

I liked Alexander and the Terrible, Awful, No Good, Very Bad Day. My mother would read it to me whenever I was upset, and I would feel better about my day. I even took to repeating the mantra, "Everyone has bad days, even in Australia."

I can't really remember being read to by my parents once I was able to read as I was such a keen reader myself. I used to read in the car (even when it was pitch black and i could barely see the words) and at night when i was supposed to be asleep i'd try to read by the light coming in from streetlamps! I blame this for my bad eyesight now!!
But books I enjoyed that must have been read to me when I was very little were The Hungry Caterpillar, The Enormous Turnip, Sam's sandwich and any books involving The Large Family!

My parents never read to me as a child.
But they would take me to the library sometimes. I would sneak into the adult fiction section, hide under the tables and read trashy romance novels about heaving bosoms and throbbing members! That's how my love of reading began. :)
