Yes, it is because you skipped the "Search for Programs" Feature.

By default if you skip this phase, it assumes all programs are deemed unsafe. If you let it run the "Search for Programs" to setup an automatic configuration for your programs, it will not block them after setup is completed. because it performs a check against known-programs.

This is how the program is intended. All programs afterwards will show up as a prompt to ask your approval to run.

    Why????

This first scan is called a "Baseline" so it considered everything that was scanned as mostly safe and anticipated to run applications. Some programs less critical then others might not pass for internet allowance but only on the local machine... most will get configured great the first run.

It's because of this baseline scan that it can protect your computer because it can identify an "Incremental" Difference between that baseline scan and a new scan. So when it scans, it knows if a program has been tampered with as well. You might notice it ask you for permission to run something if it underwent an update with the binary program file itself being replaced.

Checkpoint Security has been in Business for 25 years. I currently use ZoneAlarm without Forcefield installed.

Forcefield has problems with iSCSI (SPTD driver) emulation for disk images... like emulation with MagicDisc or Alcohol 120% which I have used for some time to eliminate my need to use physical CDs and DVDs. I purchased large amounts of disk space on a file server just for those ISOs. I just load them up and it's like the real thing is in the drive.

    No issues with DVDs...

No issues with Windows running CDs/DVDs (Microsoft Fix IT, CD/DVD Can't read disc issue)

Ever since Forcefield released... ZoneAlarm with forcefield caused those issues. I don't get them anymore but... I trust ZoneAlarm very well.

For the average user, I highly recommend ZoneAlarm.

For Parents of Teen Users, I highly recommend ZoneAlarm.

For the average "noob" user, I highly recommend ZoneAlarm with Forcfield Browser Virtualization....

It's not bad... you just skipped an important step. ;)
