why are we still in Afghanistan?
Does anyone know why we are still in Afghanistan, or why we sent our Troops in the first place. ? It seems to be one of the Countries that delight in fighting all the time, and it makes one wonder what they are fighting about... and why are our Troops are still there. ? Nothing seems to have been achieved as regards any solution to this unwanted War in the first place and yet we keep sending our Boys over there to be killed, maimed, and lives are shattered in this process. Why is it that our Government cannot see the wood from the trees, nor do they want to. Of course they do not as it is not them who are involved, only the fact that they were the instigators, but send our Boys to go through all the misery.

You are confused because you believed what your government told you when the troops went in to Afghanistan. The fact that you and many others are asking why we are still in Afghanistan highlights the illegal use of our troops on an innocent country. Sadly most of the sheepies think it's acceptable to invade another country to fight some supposedly terrorists living and training there too.
If there were Jewish terrorists training in the UK would you accept Iran invading us and taking total control of our country to stem the terrorists? I think not, so why do people not get angry about the troops invading Afghanistan and still being there?
The Taliban are known to be trained and funded by the CIA, they are encouraged to kill UK & US troops in order to give reason to troops remaining in the country, after all if the US didn't have a enemy to fight the public may then rise from their TV sets and get angry (only if the X Facter was not on though).
Do you really think that your government cares about its cattle fodder, sorry I mean troops?
Quote from Henry Kissinger - "If these cattle are stupid enough to sign up, then they deserve to be slaughtered".
It's about depopulation and it doesn't matter if its a Iraq civilian or a Britishh trooper that gets killed, they are all just cattle fodder to the rich banking Eliet who control and start all wars.
THE REAL REASONS WE ARE IN AFGHANISTAN ARE BECAUSE:
1. The Taliban was closing down the Poppy fields, UK & US were not going to have that because Afghanistan produces around 95% of the worlds heroin and the UK head quarters are in Hell Man provenc, coincedentally exactly where the heroin production is.
2. Afghanistan is also the worlds largest producer of Lithium which powers all batteries and soon to be cars.
3. The troops plan to build oil pipe lines right through the middle east and finally controlling it.

Afghanis who do not wish to live under the oppressive Taliban rule have asked the U.S. time and again to withdraw slowly, so that the new Afghan government has time to get stable on its feet. COntrary to what you will hear in the mainstream media, Allied forces have brought much good to the Afghan citizenry while there... they have built schools, hospitals, and places for women (who've lost their husbands) to work and earn a living for their kids. These are blessings not possible under taliban rule.
We first went there because Osama bin Laden, who warned -during the Clinton admin (that ended in Jan. of 01) -of an "unprecedented attack" on America - claimed responsibility for the attack. After some digging about, it was determined that he was hidden in Afghanistan and being guarded by the taliban. Thus, Afghanistan became the targeted area.
We are still there, presumably, because, as I have said, the Afghan government has asked for a slow withdrawal. The Iraqi government has asked for the same thing.
Obama, bless his inexperienced soul, has -too many times - voiced our imminent withdrawal from these countries, which has emboldened the taliban and insurgents, since they know when the U.S. is leaving.
If only Obama could have learned with the Cambridge, MA incident, to just keep his big mouth shut.

Of course they don't "delight in fighting" all the time. They've been fighting for decades because of where Afghanistan is situated in the world. It's of strategic importance, and therefore people like Russia, Pakistan, Iran and China - and by default the US and UK want to have a hand in either grabbing it, interfering in its politics or maintaining a stable government there.
It hasn't been a stable and functioning state since the 1960s - in those days would you believe that the women in the city seldom wore headscarves, went to university, were able to smoke and wear make up.
We are there because we can't let the Taliban take total control like they did in the early 90s. This time things would be worse and they have their sights set on Pakistan. They already practically control large areas of NW Pakistan - Peshawar etc. Pakistan is a nuclear state. If the Taliban take over a Pakistan/India war is inevitable. Both nuclear states. Then what?
Do you think the West would leave them to it? No - "our boys" would be in a larger war and would die in their thousands.

It is a puzzle, I think Governments are not telling us the real reason .
Perhaps a better question is : Why are Afghans and Millions of Muslims in western countries? Without the mass migration of Muslims into Europe and the USA we could spend our money on home security rather than allow our young people to be killed by cowardly hidden bombs in Afghanistan .
Having a war with Islam and allowing mass migration of Muslims into the west-- at the same time ---would have amazed our ancestors, it sure amazes me.

We went in to get Osama and put him on trial.
Haven't got him yet and probably never will. I personally think that he is dead.
Having gotten in we made all these high minded promises and now we find that we can't do them. To leave would mean the Taliban have now broken two superpowers i.e. The USSR and the USA just as they broke the 19th/early 20th century's superpower Britain.
The effect on the world order would be terrible and no one has a clue what to do except to keep doing what obviously isn't working in the vain hope that one day it just might work.

Nobody that I've asked seems to know the full answer to this question. Our governments mentioned terrorism and security - but there has been very little elaboration. What have we got out of this war so far, what have we achieved. Why have so many of our soldiers died. Sorry I know I'm not really answering your question, just adding to the list of questions.

they are holed up by a few hillbillies, its nine years now and another 5 years to go,the Afghani citizens don't want them in their country, ask yourselves why did it take only 3 years to train Iraq civilians to defend themselves when they have several clans in conflict and 14 years in Afghanistan, lets hope they hurry and finish the pipeline into Siberia

Because we love Afghan men. Afghan men are the hottest stuff on earth. They make Jonny Depp and Brad Pitt look like a gerbil.
They are extremely masculine and love fighting and at the same time they are very loyal and work hard to provide for their many wives.
The NATO soldiers like them very much, and also the Afghan men are very "big" too. So really its about building hot interracial relations between the two guys from these two great countries.
The Afghan men love blonde hair and blue eyed men and vice versa the pale skinned NATO guys like brown skinned big men.
The NATO soldiers like to take the submissive role whilst the Afghan men like to act out the masculine dominant role.
hope this helps.
