Hebrews 1.1 states what faith is. Basically to trust God even when things are insane crazy and make no sense. To trust God when it may cause pain to ourselves.

Our hope is in our salvation with Christ. No matter how bad this life gets, no matter how much we suffer here on earth, this isn't where its at. Once we are with Christ in heaven, our hope has been fulfilled.

Christ promised we would be with Him, that is our assurance of our hope.

We do not see God, we know Him, we hear Him and we see Him move. But we never see God.

Without fait you lack trust in God

    Salvation and treasures in heaven.

    Hebrews 11:1 (New International Version)

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

The answers are in the scripture, ask Jesus to help you understand it as you read it above. Do this with all of God's word or one can not understand it. Understanding comes from God, so start learning this now with this small thing.

    bless you.

The Bible describes faith as being neither blind nor illogical. God’s Word says: “Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld.”—Hebrews 11:1. At the time of the writing of the Bible book of Hebrews, the Greek term translated “assured expectation” was commonly used. It often appeared in business documents and carried the idea of a guarantee of future possession of something. Therefore, one reference work suggests that Hebrews 11:1 could be translated: “Faith is the title-deed of things hoped for.”

If you have ever bought an item from a reputable company and then waited for it to be delivered, you have exercised that type of faith. The sales receipt in your hand gave you reason for faith in the company from which you bought the item. In a sense, that receipt was your title deed, your guarantee that you would receive what you purchased. If you had lost the receipt or had thrown it away, you would have lost the proof of your claim of ownership. Similarly, those who have faith that God will fulfill his promises are guaranteed to receive what they hope for. On the other hand, those who do not have faith, or who lose it, are not entitled to receive the things God promises.—James 1:5-8.

The second expression at Hebrews 11:1, translated “evident demonstration,” carries the idea of producing evidence that contradicts that which only appears to be factual. For instance, the sun appears to revolve around the earth—rising in the east, moving through the sky, and setting in the west. However, evidence from astronomy and mathematics reveals that the earth is not the center of the solar system. Once you become familiar with that evidence and accept it as true, you have faith that the earth revolves around the sun—despite what your eyes tell you. Your faith is not blind. On the contrary, it gives you the ability to see things as they really are, not merely as they seem to be.

This is the type of faith that the Bible encourages—strong faith built on solid evidence, even if it requires that we adjust our beliefs. Such faith is vital. The apostle Paul wrote: “Without faith no one can please God. Anyone who comes to God must believe that he is real and that he rewards those who truly want to find him.”—Hebrews 11:6, New Century Version.

Note that the kind of faith that pleases God involves two aspects. First, we must “believe that he is,” that is, we must believe that God exists and that he is our Supreme Ruler, deserving of our obedience and worship. Second, we must believe that he is “the rewarder of those earnestly seeking him.” True faith includes believing that God is interested in the welfare of all who earnestly seek to do his will and that he rewards them. By studying God’s Word and associating with those who obey him, you too can come to have the kind of faith that merits God’s reward and loving care.

Many people today believe that God takes no interest in human affairs. The Bible clearly shows that God very much cares for those who demonstrate true faith in him. Even though life today is often filled with distress, worries, disappointments, and hurt, we need not despair. Jehovah God does care. In fact, he lovingly invites us to turn to him for support. “Throw your burden upon Jehovah himself, and he himself will sustain you,” says the psalmist. “Never will he allow the righteous one to totter.”—Psalm 55:22.

tree top you are most likely being brainwashed right now

you can easily believe in a god that does not exist. a god that is sinful does not exist. A god that is wrong does not exist either. God is really the spirit of god (holy spirit), god cannot be contained within his body or in heaven. Jesus's spirit is also the spirit of god, which is why he can be called god.

God's definition of belief may differ from yours.

Then Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock, and he said to them, "Hear now, you rebels: shall we bring water for you out of this rock?" 11And Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock with his staff twice, and water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their livestock. 12And the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, "Because you did not believe in me, to uphold me as holy in the eyes of the people of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land that I have given them."

    (Numbers 20:10-12 ESV)

God told moses that he did not BELIEVE just for adding his extra hit with the rock using a staff. God's definition of belief might mean that you do not believe for adding things on top of the belief. So if you believe anything on top of/removed of what the holy spirit has said, then you believe that what the holy spirit said is wrong, which means that you believe that the holy spirit lied or you can believe in a holy spirit that does not exist. If that is the case, then your heart is speaking evil of the holy spirit.

context is everything, the fact that your just looking at hebrews 11:1,6 is crazy. Read the entire chapter. Do you believe that you can believe that jesus is the son of god and has an evil spirit, and still expect to go to heaven?

It also says in the bible that if you believe that you are sinless, then you are NOT with jesus.

"8If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives."

    1 John 1:8-10 ESV

Why does it even say that in john if "believe" means just believing in jesus's existence?

What you hope for can be seen;what you can not see is SPIRITUAL but can and do produce evidence of what is seen that we hope for. ONE IS FOR THE FUTURE...AND THE OTHER IS FOR PRESENT evidence. For more knowledge......http:://www.hubpages.com/hub/Divine-and-Unknown
