how do i to router config page?

my modem config page comes up instead,i use a linksys and the config address is 192.168.1.1 the same as the modem

i want to get to the router's page not my modem

    The first poster is correct. Unplug the modem from your router when trying to access the router's config page. Additionally, once you are logged into the router, I would suggest changing its ip address so that it does not share with the modem. A change from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.2 would work.

    Few if any modems have config pages. The vendor sets that. Your router is the only thing that needs a config page and the one you see is for the linksys router.

    The best way to guarantee you get to the router instead of the modem is to unplug the modem from the router. This will obviously keep you from getting online while you are configuring the router, but you should be able to do your configuration then.

    Connect Broadband Modem [wired] to Router [wired/wireless] to PC.

    * DO NOT REMOVE POWER TO RESET NETWORK DEVICES *

    -

    Set router POWER OFF.

    -

    Reset Broadband Modem: With a straightened paperclip, press RESET button momentarily.

    -

    Wait 60 secs.

    -

    Set router POWER ON.

    -

    Reset router: With a straightened paperclip, press RESET button momentarily.

    Wait 60 secs.

    Open PC Command Line:

    -

    Click [Start] - Click [Run...] - enter: cmd, press [ENTER]

    -

    At the prompt (c:\.....>) enter: ipconfig /release, press [ENTER]

    -

    At the prompt (c:\.....>) enter: ipconfig /renew, press [ENTER]

    -

    TEST: Open Web Browser: Connect to Internet.

    If SUCCESS: Repeat Steps after PC Command Line on other PCs.

    If NO SUCCESS:

    -

    Connect Modem [wired] to Router [wired] to PC and perform ALL steps again.
