Has anyone else felt tremendous pain during their c-section?
I had an emergency c-section to deliver my twins in Feb.
It was the worst pain I ever felt in my life! I felt everything. There was not one moment where I was not in pain. I really question my c-section experience was than natural childbirth would have been. I didn't even notice one of my babies being born it was so terrible for me.
My aunt had the same experience, so i wonder if could have something to do with genetics- but of course I really just throwing that out there.
Its been 7 months and I'm still wondering what in the world happened.
I can see that this is not a normal experience. I'm just wondering how often it happens.
It was with an epidural.

wow that scares me!!! im due my baby in 5days and if im still pregnant on my due date im in need of an ultrasound to estimate his weight, if hes big im booked straight in for a section, dont think i want one at all now!!
what happened to you was not normal of course...
didnt they spray you with freezing cold water on different parts of your body first before cutting you open?
didnt you tell them you could feel it??
it sounds like your epidural was not fully in the correct place

my first c-section I felt. I had an epidural wit her and it was awful. My younger two kids were born in a different hospital but for their c-sections I had a spinal and the only thing i felt was pulling no pain at all. Some people just dont take to epidurals I didn't and my first was an emerg c-section the other two were planned so maybe with it being an emerg the epidural didnt have time to work in yours and mine and your aunts case. Sorry to hear about that.

I am not a doctor or nurse, but I have heard of people who are resistant to the epidural or where the epidural was not performed properly and if it missed the spine then you defintely would have felt everything, so sorry for your experience dear.

my doctor told me that epidurals dont always work and numb every spot when they perform a csection. he told me that he always uses spinal blocks (spinal tap) instead of an epidural because they work better, faster, and they wear off faster than an epidural so you are able to walk around faster. it wears off after a couple hours.
i had the spinal and i didnt feel one thing.
im sorry about your experience. next time ask for a spinal instead of an epidural

thankfully i did not feel a thing, just pulling and tugging with my c-sections but afterward was excruciating. since yours was an emergency one, they might of not had enough time to give a proper amount of medicine in your epidural.
