Any other moms out there that do weekly meal planning, bargain shoping, coupons and all that to save money?

Are there any of you moms out there that are into doing weekly meal planning and buying things for a bargain or using coupons? Do you follow someone else's blog on for any of these things or have your own blog. I'm looking at searching other blog on this and possibly doing one of my own. If anyone has a blog or other source and doesn't mind sharing could you please share with me? Thanks!

I do it! However I don't have a blog.. but my main thing is to go to the cheapest place possible, and do constant comparison shopping. I look for the item that has the cheapest cent per ounce. Also, when planning meals I always make sure that they all kind of co-inside, so that I am not buying something special for just one meal. My local market also has a bulk section, where you can get 1 lb. of rice for 20 cents, versus 50 cents in the bag. I do not do much for coupon clipping, as the market I go to does not have a flyer, and coupons that come in the newspaper are for name brands, which I don't buy.

I focus on casserole types of meals as well as stews, and soups. Chicken is cheap, and that is also our main meat source. Don't use things like bisquick, look up recipies to make your own mix.. same with cakes, and other things. Cream sauces for pasta are incredibly easy to make with some milk, seasonings, and flour (For thickener)

The key to having a cheaper grocery bill is to buy nothing pre-made, or pre-put together. The closest thing I buy to something put together is peanut butter, or jelly. It really doesn't take long to make meals either, its just getting it down to a science. Every meal I make has veggies, and meat in it.

For my family of 3, our grocery bill is $70.00 for two weeks. That includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack.

I do the menu plan, but I don't follow a blog or do coupon cutting.

I also don't shop specifically for 'bargains' as I feel that unless you were planning on buying that item regardless of it being on sale it isn't a bargain!

Coupon cutting doesn't actually save money around here- I spend LESS than the coupon cutting mums yet I end my shop with more in the trolley!

Blogs about saving money as a housewife tend to say the same old things over and over again- that's why I don't follow them.

The biggest way to save money is to do a menu plan, make a grocery list and stick to it!

Yes I do this. I have to since we barely make it on my husband's income.

I don't follow other blogs at all. I rely on circulars I get in the mail or pick up in store.

I don't do weekly planning though. We plan out meals for a full two weeks then go shopping. This also includes lunches for my husband. We use coupons.

We focus on easy things to put together. Burritos, tacos, mac & cheese, quesadillas.. pizza.. leftovers, hamburger helper, leftovers I save an average of 2-10 dollars each trip. It IS worth it though. We used to spend an average of 300 dollars every month for food for my husband me and my son.. We now barely spend over 200 dollars a month. We used to spend at HEB but found Wal-mart so much cheaper, so we go there. We also use a food program that's pretty good.. and we do that another part of the month when money's tight.

I used to do menu planning then it got hard. It was hard because I was trying to spend 60 dollars a week on groceries. And three meals a day was tough enough. I also have a toddler that failure to thrive so try to get high calorie food for her to eat. I also cut out coupons and try to use them while grocery shopping has well. Now I moved and living with my boyfriend and his daughter. we are not menu planning or anything.
