About taxes - Can you correct me if I am wrong?

Correct me if I am wrong.

Currently we have about 213 various taxes in the USA, from local to federal. Every time I see a tax cut I see defunding in other areas. This trickles down to every tax level and every government entity so in order to make up for the shortfalls they increases taxes and fees. So the middle class and the poor get screwed even more.

Is that assessment wrong?

Tax cuts will lead to de-funding on the local level because local government have limited ability to get into debt. Some do. However, at the federal level, tax cuts do not lead to lower spending but the federal government can borrow. Starving the beast is a policy doomed to failure.

I believe we need to take care of the elderly who by no fault of their own got old, The children because some parents do not and they are our future, the veterans who were injured physically or mentally we owe them that, and finally people who are either physically injured and can not work or the mentally ill people who can not work. Those should be all we have to give money to. We have the money for that. But we can't afford to give illegals medical care, they aren't even our citizens. We can not afford to give money to people who know how to work the system so they get food, money and subsidized housing for sitting on their a** and not wanting to get off welfare. Yes, we are going to have to make some tough choices and people are going to have to suffer a little to get the point we are not going socialism. This is the only way for our country to survive. When you run out of everyone else's money then what? Greece!
