What would Buddha do?

This is a question, if I may, directed primarily at Buddhists. I wonder what Buddha would do if he traveled to America in 2010, if he got a job in an office somewhere and, during his lunch hours, he would have to sit and watch several TV shows ranging from Maury to Days of Our Lives to Jerry Springer and the 24 hours News Networks while eating his food?

How would Buddha react? Would he ask that people turn of the television? Would he forgo sitting in the employee lounge and go walk outside, weather permitting, instead of watching said tv shows? Would he even ask that someone picked a different, more serene channel to watch?

I was just wondering...

Buddhists and spiritualists, what would Buddha do in this situation? : )

Love and Blessings to all! ♥

Once a father, knowing his mortality called his three sons together to decide which one should inherit his holdings. He decided to test each one to see their state of mind and heart. Instructing a servant to hide in the loft of the barn he told each son in turn to enter the barn for a reward. The servant was instructed to drop a sack of rice on each as they entered the barn. The first son, being knocked to the ground by the bag of rice drew his sword and hacked the bag of rice to pieces in anger. The second son, being more aware drew his sword and hacked the bag of rice as it fell. The third son, aware that something was amiss refused to enter the barn and was given the inheritance.

The Buddha would not have taken such a job in the first place.

He would never have a job. They survived by the charity of others. Most likely though would understand that we are all on the path to the truth and that some are farther from it then others but that is what they need to get to where they are going.

Perhaps he would watch it to show him that which he should not be. Kind of the reason I watch the show hoarders. Keep me from becoming like them. When my daughters were young I let them watch Springer to show them what kind of guys they should stay away from. Called learning lessons of life.

I Am not a buddhist but understand the belief system as I walk on all paths. There is no singular path to the truth but you have to be able to remove the deceptions on all to find out what the truth is.

My path is that of true spirituality. Had a computer generated aura done once. Everyone else had multiple colors in their auras. When mine was done the guy just went wow. One color that of golden yellow. Shows true inner happiness. He stated my happiness is internal and that it is not the external that creates my happiness. He did say that auras change. Something I already knew but often wonder if mine does.

Buddha vs fat Buddha i think of maximum individuals are acquainted with the two variations of Buddha, the thin and the fat one. the unique Buddhist photograph depicted is of him being skinny or of an everyday physique style. It certainly has continuously afflicted me that especially interior the western international I’ve continuously considered the “fat” Buddha or “giggling Buddha.” explanation why the fat version of Buddha is stated as the giggling Buddha is via the fact interior the photographs and statues depicted of him he's frequently giggling or smiling. even nonetheless this giggling version of Buddha grew to become into certainly first presented in China. it quite is because of the fact in classic China, being overweight signified solid wellbeing and fortune. for this reason it made sense to create a picture of somebody so enlighten like Buddha to be overweight and smiling. even nonetheless interior the chinese language Buddhist faith there's a monk with the help of the call of Budai who has been depicted as looking like the “fat buddha” so there ought to have been confusion in some think approximately time. in case you flow to India, Thailand, Korea or different worldwide places interior the jap hemisphere you will locate that Buddha is depicted in statues and pictures as skinny, that's how he grew to become into considered initially.

    A wonderful teacher!

    He would be, not do!

Action and reaction is the mechanism of karma.

    What is to do?

Walsh says what we resist persists.

Many watch soaps as their extended family.

Many watch disaster and violence to process their own experience.

Since i am not a buddha, throwing rocks at the tv feels good.

The Buddha would go for a walk and find a place more conducive to spiritual teaching/learning.

I like to think the Buddha would not pay any attention to it. He was already aware of the depravity of man, which is caused by our own greed. I think he would rather sit quietly in nature to meditate so that he would not be taken in by the desire to participate.

Buddha wouldn't advocate that kind of social behavior. Trash Tv isn't very enlightening.

No contexto que estamos vivendo ele manteria a posição dele, sendo considerado louco, esquisito, religioso, e outros preconceitos contra a religião dele.E ainda conseguiria adesões.
