In Spanglish, what is the proper way to conjugate verbs with prepositions?

In grammar questions it's better to be descriptive rather than prescriptive.

I've heard three different ways to go on this one:

1. Drop the preposition. "John y Maria hookearon." "Shiftealo a primera."

2. Keep the preposition. "John y Maria hookearon up." "Shiftealo down a primera."

3. Find some way to avoid the preposition altogether. "John y Maria, last night." "Mete primera."

Spanglish has no real rules or formal grammar, but it is much closer to Spanish than it is to English, so it tends to drop unnecessary prepositions. For example, 'hook up' sometimes becomes the Spanglish verb 'juquear' and the 'up' just falls by the wayside. Each of the phrasal verbs you list has too many meanings for us to try to guess which one you mean.

My observations are directed towards those who do not learn proper grammatical rules, and prefer to follow incorrect, bastardized forms of communication.

Spanglish is not a proper language, rules are street rules, so your guess will be as good as the guy across the street.

I find it rather offensive, in the same category as slang. There are individuals who want to learn proper Spanish, and will be confused by uneducated nonsense.
