Help with finding a speech topic?

Your sources can be human. Get the 'I didn't know that' from the web, then ask some people to tell you about the topic. Volunteering is a good one, it creates warm fuzzies. You can get the statistics from the internet (how many people volunteer, in what area, average age etc) Then speak to some people in volunteering about their experiences, eg animal shelters, age-care, schools, hospitals. If you can get a few hand-outs asking for volunteers it adds some interest.

Or, pick your own topic, and when you run out of sources, top up with people.
