What did you wear in hospital after delivery ?

i hate getting around in night clothes with people everywhere, I am booked in for a c-section this friday at 39+5 weeks. I was hoping to go into natural labour early but so far, no dice. I haven't packed my hospital bag yet, am planning to do that today, I am thinking of packing tracksuits and shirts rather than pyjamas, I am not a fan of parading around in my nightwear in front of people and i expect to get a lot of visitors. Do you think that tracksuits would be comfy after a c-section? It's been 8 years since my last child and i forget! Any other tips on what to pack for hospital ? Thanks!

Update:

I am in Australia, they don't give us hospital gowns to wear, lol. I'll have one for the op but after that we are expected to dress in our own clothes....... so a nightie would be better I guess.

I just stayed in my hospital gown till I was released

It was way more comfy, easy to breast feed and if I had an accident it was on THEIR gown not my own clothes

I don't think tracksuit would be at all comfortable esp. after a C!

You're going for comfort here - and its MAJOR surgery

I doubt you will be up for many visitors afterwards

**Edit: They don't give you hospital gowns? Are you kidding me!?

In that case you need to pack some loose fitting shorts and a loose fitting top

Damn - give me your address I would be HAPPY to mail you at least 4 hospital gowns! I have plenty to spare!!

Hospital gown. I know they are annoying being open in the back and well not figure flattering. But practical in this situation. You don't want to mess your own things up. You bleed a lot after delivery.

When I had visitors I just made sure I had blankets over me. And,really. No one is going to expect you to look like you're ready for a close up photo shoot after birth. Don't worry about what anyone will think.

I wore my hospital gown.I had a lot of room to be comfortable and relaxed.it seems like a tracksuit would cause alittle pain after a c-section but it depends I guess.pack what you think you'll be comfy in.good luck and congrats

if you dont want to use a hospital gown, use a maxi dress, or sundress, because with a c-section those pants are going to try and ride up into your scars and it will hurt and bother you..They will be easy to use when u have to use the RR, lay down, breastfeed(if you get the tube top dress style) and just pick up a bit when you sit down

I wore the hospital gown. I had my top off most of the time anyway because nurses kept interrupting me bfing and finally I just left it off and told them to deal with it.

i wore the hospital gowns after my c-section, and i wore sweatpants and scrub pants when i left because my abdomen was very tender and sensitive. just don't wear anything that's going to be restrictive.
