Air Force Reserves to Active Duty Help?
Ok, I joined the Air Force Reserves a couple months ago but I won't be going to basic till next year till late spring. Is it possible for me to change this and go to Active Duty into a different career or am I stuck? And if so what do I need to do or could someone just lead me into the right direction.

1. You are already in the AF Reserves, whether you have been to basic yet or not.
2. But if you have not drilled yet or went to basic,
Then yes, there is a possibility to change your enlistment to active duty.
3. You need to go back to your recruiter and tell them, they will contact your reserve unit and see if the commander will release you from your reserve enlistment.

If you've already signed your contract you're obligated to go USAFR. Once you're finished with training you can volunteer for active reserve and work full time. Until then, I think you're stuck. If you have a desperate need (a family member has a medical condition and you need Tricare ASAP) then talk to your recruiter and see if something can be arranged.
