What Kawasaki Ninja should I buy?

I have pretty much decided that I am going to buy a Kawasaki as my first bike (as long as AAA will insure), what engine size will I need for a 200 lbs person? I would like to have a smaller passenger once in a while. Thanks.

If this is your fist bike stay far away from the fast ones like the ZX14, Hyabusa, etc. Those will get an inexperienced rider killed. Learn on a smaller bike like a ZX6 (but it may be a bit small for you). If you can get a good ZX7R for cheap, get one of those. They are great, have plenty of power, and handle. But again, these are all bikes that really should not be a first one. A better first time bike is an old LTD 440. You can get them dirt cheap and are forgiving. Plus, if you have no experience riding a bike, that one will not get away from you.

I have been on bikes since I was a kid. I have had plenty and am 43. I ride regularly and have thousands of miles on the road. My current bike is a 2000 Honda VFR 800. I am considering getting a newer ZX10 early next year. If you are an advanced rider, then get the 2004-2005 ZX10.

Good luck and pay attention out there!

I hate to smash your dream AAA will not insure your sport bike.I have been a member since 1970"s and they would not insure my cbr929,however at that current time they were insuring my v-star custom classic. So I took both of my bikes to an independent dealer to get my insurance. Let me give you some advice-not preaching-if you get a newer bike and have a loan on it you will be forced by the lender to carry full coverage which if you are young or a beginner will almost take the fun out of owning one.Save your money and pay cash for your first bike,it will lessen the burden of insurance.

Mr. SmartyPants gave an fantastic answer. The Little Ninja that would desire to has ~30hp, runs 15s and tops out in basic terms below 100mph so it might desire to fulfill any criminal overall performance call for. yet its no longer designed to. in case you reside in a very city area, seldom go over 55 and by no potential carry a passenger or extra advantageous than a backpack, the 250 ninja is a great interior of your potential stylish commuter device which will fit your desires. My pal who stay in Plam Bay, Fl includes innovations. in case you, like me, stay in Rural Texas the place a visit to the closest gas station neccesatates a stint on an interstate, you prefer to experience 2 up, or you prefer to experience with different motorcycles you would be very disillusioned. The GS500F is particularly extra valuable, yet i comprehend one proprietor (a skinny Austinite) who expressed a choose for extra throughway passing skill, extra skill for giving ladies rides, and a often larger spec suspension after his first summer season of driving. My suggestion is to purchase an previous, dirt inexpensive enduro of a minimum of 400cc (KLR650, XR6650, DR650 and so on) you may in all probability locate one for below a grand.those make great first motorcycles. they're tractable, rugged, and relaxing. study fundamentals of operation in a field, then progression to roads, then wheelies and leaping and such on trails. once you're mushy on the enduro, you ought to purchase a actual motorbike. At that factor you may sell the thumper for about what you paid for it, or in basic terms shop it and enable that is going to deliver you a excitement all its very own. severe motorcyclist have a tendency to have numerous motorcycles. Or, in case you dont have the mechanical apptitude or endurance to handle previous junk (or in basic terms have extra money than me) a gently used Suzuki DRZ400SM is extra valuable motorbike than the Ninja for many makes use of. yet, to respond to your question maximum at present. The Ninja 250 is terrific considered as a stylish, hi-po scooter. If that whats you go with, purchase it. in case you go with a sportbike, dont.
