does anyone know of a Firm in Leeds called * MCN please?

Has anyone got a Telephone number for this Firm who are supposed to be in Leeds. The one I got and tried to phone was answered by a Girl who after I had stated my business ... put the phone down on me, and when on trying again was told it did not exist....They have already taken £600 from my Bank ... but they do not know who they are either. I have no debts.. so what is it for..,.... anyone help ?

Update:

Contacted my Bank who told me that it was up to me to investigate it, but do not know where to start. Already as I have stated phoned them, and the phone was put down. I then went into the Bank again who told me again it was up to me to find out about these People, as it was not their business, as they paid out when requested by People. I just wonder how long this will go on, and no one wants to know, or help... I have stopped it twice, but they requested it and the Bank paid it again. I keep thinking it would be a good idea to change Banks, but I am at my wits end at the moment as I am only on a Pension, and treated like a nobody.

Update 2:

I think I might close my Account and go elsewhere, as all of this is making me ill.Been to the Bank again this morning, and was told again it was up to me to find out who these people were. I then told this Girl ( who is one of the rudest persons I know to work in any Bank ) who said their interest was to pay out money when requested and it was my responsability to get it put right. So I will try again tomorrow and find another Bank... But I have been in this Bank for 66yrs, and never had anything like this before. But in this Modern age... Banks or should I say Staff are not the same anymore, and treat you like a number and not a person.

Your bank can only pay money out if you have authorised it. Go to your bank and ask to see a copy of your authority to pay them. If the bank paid out after you put a stop on it, then the bank is at least responsible for the second payment. Of course the bank knows where the money is going. When you go to the bank, take someone else with you. It doesn't matter who they are or if they don't say a word. The more of you there are, the greater your negotiating position.

And name and shame this bank.

Contact your bank ASAP and file a fraud alert. Put a freeze on your account so they can't take out any more money, and hopefully your bank will be able to reverse the transfer if it was unauthorised. Let the bank investigate

Sounds like you may have fallen for a phishing scam by phone or email if you don't know this company. You haven't received any calls or emails in the past 6 months purpoting to be from your bank have you? Maybe a call or email saying there is suspected fraud on your account and asking for your account details? Or something about a security upgrade asking you to click a link to login to your online banking account?

In any case, call your bank immediately to freeze your account and file a fraud report

EDIT - if they won't help you, then close your account with them and get a new bank. Tell them you have investigated, the company does not exist, and you did not authorise the withdrawal. I would also contact the police to file a fraud report or contact Trading Standards in Leeds

"Tell your bank that FSA Rule BCOBS 5.1.11R says

"(1) Where a banking customer denies having authorised a payment, it is for the firm to prove that the payment was authorised.

    (2) Where a payment from a banking customer's account was not authorised by the banking customer, a firm must, within a reasonable period, refund the amount of the unauthorised payment to the banking customer and, where applicable, restore the banking customer's account to the state it would have been in had the unauthorised payment not taken place."

This means it is up to the bank to provide proof the payment was authorised by you or issue a refund. Tell them they will be reportedto the FSA if they do not provide you with this proof as you have never had any dealings with MCN and there is no registered company by that name
