I have split ends. What are the best products to use?
I don't want to cut off a lot of hair all the time, so what are some affordable products (like conditioners?) that work well to treat heat-damaged hair? I use a straightener every day and I don't plan to stop, but I do want my hair to be a little less dry.
One of my friends recommended Aussie deep conditioner or something like that. Does it work?

No conditioner or hot oil will repair split ends. Hair is dead protein, like your finger nails. Conditioner may make it feel different, but will do nothing for your ends. I'm sure you stretch your hair with a brush while using your straightener, so get a hair cut!

First of all, avoid using regular, commercial shampoos, like Herbal Essences. These popular shampoos have fancy names, smell good, and look good, but they are filled with a chemical called "sodium laureth sulphate" and "sodium laurel sulphate." They are used as lathering agents. However, they are also harsh detergents that are used as cement degreasers, and strip your hair of moisture and colour... they can even result in split ends and hair loss. Almost every popular shampoo on the market lists this as one of its first ingredients.
I suggest going to a store that sells organic shampoos that do not contain sodium laurel/laureth sulphate. It sounds hippy, but your hair will be shinier, fuller, and healthier. Some brands I enjoy are Giovani, Burt's Bees, Green Beaver, Avalon, and Nature's Gate. Granted, they are more expensive, but your hair will thank you!
As for conditioners, commercial conditioners are not as bad as commercial shampoos, but they still contain a lot of chemical nonsense. I'd suggest doing the same for conditioners and buying organic ones.
As for straightening, make sure you use heat-protection sprays beforehand. But I think you'll find that losing the chemically shampoos will make a big difference!
Hope this helped =)

you need to cut your hair. not too short if u dont want maybe even like an inch or so but it makes ur hair healthy again so u can start all over. u need to cut ur hair every time u start to get split ends again. the shorter u cut it the more healthy it will be.

You can deep condition your hair, but that won't get rid of your split ends. Your best option is to trim your hair before it gets worse.
