Two year old won't eat, but wakes me up at night for milk?

My two year old daughter refuses to eat more than a few bits of anything. Her pediatrician says not to force her to eat and that she will eat when she gets hungry. My problem is that she wakes me up three or four times a night because she wants a cup of milk. What should I do?

Cut down her milk and she will get hungry and eat food. Give her water at night and let her sleep. This way she will wake up hungry.

I had to do it for my 18 month old son when he was teething and would only drink milk. His pediatrician asked me to cut down his milk to 12oz a day and let him get hungry. Offer food and take it away if he did not eat it or whatever amount he ate. No force feeding. He started eating a lot more within 2 days coz he realised he will not get milk to substitute food.

Refuse her requests for milk, and let her know that if shes thirsty she can have water, but if she is hungry that she should eat her supper from now on. Sounds mean, but works. She will begin to eat her supper at night if you discourage her from getting her way at night.

Try getting her excited about food.

Try differnt flavours, see what she likes.

Get her to help pick meals. Let her choose broccoli or peas, carrots or parsnips, potato or noodles etc etcs

Get her to help make supper, mixing the lettuce, adding ingreidants into the pot.

Make her food in shapes or faces.
